What do you do when you're lonely?

I am soooooo lonely. I know it sounds pathetic but what can I say? I need some advice on how to distract myself...I run around all day just so I don't have to think about it, but once I lay down to go to sleep its unstoppable. What do all of you people do to stay sane?!

WOW SB that is sad...
You don't need to be that lonely! You have so much going for you.
When you feel that way, it's a good time to be with friends... do something fun. Just keep in mind that the sun will come out tomorrow and you will meet new people and have all kinds of new experiences! 
Think about that and you won't be so lonely.
PS: Everybody gets lonely sometimes ... it will pass.

sorry..I can't help you here.. I do get lonely at times...
but
.......I am not sane... 
seriously I think about how to change things for the better rather than dwell on my feelings of loneliness... I think of happy times in the past..and plan out goals to make things better..

UH OH!!!! Think I've been had! Just read your entire profile and I'm getting a different picture of who you are now.
I take back my previous comment.
Instead I will say this ...
Maybe if you stopped advertising for no strings attached casual sex, you would be less lonely. Having that kind of sex is enough to make anyone feel that way.

I too know what it's like to feel that lonely pang when I lay down at night... But you are a beautiful young lady with some very admirable goals and ambitions. Focus on those and go ahead and play once in a while. The last thing you need in this stage of your life is some guy distracting you from what you want out of life. Good, clean, no strings sex is GREAT... just be careful and watch out for the looney toonies

You know, rain, you are right. Shadow, you should listen to him. If you want someone to share your bed everynight, to hold you, cuddle with, you won't find him in casual, no strings sex.

Yeah that's right... the last thing you want is an actual relationship with one of them male types... messin' things up for ya like that!
Just use 'em for their body parts and move on ... there's some great advice to keep you from feeling lonely!

Come on guys... she is only 20 years old!!!!! She has some wonderful goals in life and should focus on becoming the woman she wants to be.
My advise to my children was to wait til at least 25 to think about settling down... build upon your dreams first and you will be able to bring golden things into a relationship. My daughter didn't listen and was a mother and wife at 21... guess how long that marriage lasted.
Now, I don't profess to know everything but I have walked a pretty long road and that's the best advise I can give

Casual, no strings attached sex is NOT the route to becoming unlonely.
It's a practice that leads to MORE loneliness.

Well, a marriage can be good, it can validate a person, you can have all the sex you want. It is wonderful to be loved and have emotional support and encouragement to reach those goals.
As it is, she is going to have some casual sex with some guy who wants nothing more, and fall in love with him and then what does she have.
Gee, go for the gold, not the brass.

When I was lonely and sad, when I still had my Naiya, she would goof off and smile and play to make me laugh... it was so sweet!

Rain, you are so right, or to stds, or babies, or to falling in love with some jerk to whom you are just another notch in his belt, just another encounter.
It doesn't have to be marriage, just a relationship would be better than casual sex, no strings. I bet she has plenty of guys standing in line for that.

I disagree. If you can't take care of yourself, or entertain yourself enough to be not lonely, you have no business getting a dog.
Learn a skill. A language. Join a book discussion group. Volunteer. There are so many things in life to do, no one should ever be bored. jmo

Agreed. I climb into bed alone myself at the end of every day. And I'd rather not,. But I'd rather that than casual sex.
