To me, it means showing appreciation for the ones you love...wheather it be flowers, candy, cards, a phone call, or just a few kind words spoken to them...It's about LOVE............

The ones we love romantically or would that include all the ones we love in differents ways ... like parents/friends? Trust me I already have my own opinions on V-Day ...

I don't think there should be a designated day to show someone that you love them. Most guys today will buy their women flowers or a cards simply because it's "expected" of them. They should show their love because they want to, not because they think it's an obligation.

Thats what keeps the romance in a relationship....jmo. I like slipping especially sexy notes with much love in his pocket.

Yes, I think men feel obligated and pressured on V-Day ... and that is what makes it "not so special" for lack of better words ... I think it should be year round ... and spontanious sweet nothings ...

It's all in how you interpret Valentines' Day....Some people show their expression of love to family, friends and their SO....and then there are those who only believe it's for your sweety....it's all in how you look at it...I don't think there is a set rule

I agree that men are "expected to produce gifts" on Valentine's day. But if you really love someone, isn't giving little gifts something you'd do anyway?

Awwwwwwww I have a 21 year old in college and he doesn't do anything for me ... reason being we have always felt that V-Day is a "sweetheart" holiday and we used to get upset cause my ex hubby's mom thought that day was for HER ONLY ... Bad memories BUT lessons learned ... Sometimes, though, I wish my son would send me wishes that day ... he has a sour taste about V-Day and moms cause of that ... so sad ... and hell yeah son's ROCK!!!
