how many men or women are on multiple dating sites and dont tell the person they are dating of continued activity on other sites. If you are concerned, if he/she seems to be bored, maybe they have met someone on another site, try googling their user name, you might be surprised

I was on 7 sites. I met a guy on AMD a few months ago and thought we "had something" so I cancelled all 7... even my myspace page. About a month later I realized he was playing me so I reactivated my MD and AMD accounts, but everything else is still cancelled - at least all i could rememember and find.
Not that it matters, as I have no one who cares.

Is it necessarily dishonest? I've joined so many sites over the years that I honestly don't even remember all of them...and I even get emails from sites where I KNOW I cancelled my profile. Since I used different ID's on all of them (I generally joined on a whim, as I did with MD  ) googling wouldn't do much for anyone I was dating, but if they were the same ID, they'd be waaaaay wrong in seeing it as a red flag since I don't cheat, period. I know my SO's profile is still active on the site we met on, as is mine. I'd be kind of surprised if he hadn't gotten any emails from there, I know I have, and I'd be equally surprised if he hadn't responded as I did - thanks for your interest, but I'm currently seeing someone. If it doesn't work out, you may be hearing from me but so far so good...best of luck to you anyway...

I'm with Heaven and Danger....I can't even remember all the sites I've joined over the years but never revisited...lol. All I know is the subscriptions on the "pay" sites I joined have long since ended, and I never renewed. I'm still on Match but just hid my profile 'cause, like most sites nowadays, nobody can do anything without paying. The only site I'm active on is this one, and this is just for the forums. I was heavily on Plentyoffish over the summer and fall hosting meet and greet parties but decided to take a break and come back here.
I'm sure most people on one site are on others, too, but whether they're "paying" members (hence actively dating from the sites) is another question entirely. I simply can't afford to be on multiple paid sites.

This is the only site in which I have my profile
it's too difficult remembering all different IDs and all different passwords 
No no I stay here because I love this site and these people

the only ones I have ever tried are this one (I really don't count it as a date site) and Match.com, which sucks. Match seems like it's become more of a 'professionals' dating site nowadays. I don't think you;re doing yourself too much good being on more than one at once anyway. Just use one, and try to get out more and do some activities.

about a year, i stumbled on one of his websites by mistake, was looking for an article on something else and you know how all sorts of stuff can be included in a search, his name and user id came up and so i just decided to google it.
I know I am new to this but I felt he was sincere. But looking back it seems he has been playing me all along.

taking "he was playing you" at face value here..as I have no reason to doubt it.. but I am thinking as the internet makes it easier to meet people..it also makes it easier to find out if they are cheating.... the gray area is... when is it cheating?
I especially liked Dooney's answer...
I don't care how many sites he has profiles on. I trust that he's only with me. If I didn't trust him, I wouldn't be with him. ...
and we are back to... when does one trust someone...or not? which imho.. has nothing to do with dating sites... but has to do with a real relationship...

I have been on other sites, as was/is Pete....I pretty much cancelled all of mine. Not because of him, but because I didn't use them. I cancelled gradually. He is on others and the ones I don't know about would be easy enough to track.
Dooney and Gallows are right.....it's about trust in the relationship. If a person is going to play you, it's going to be more than on the internet.
