I post on a couple of other boards, and one of the ladies there posted a bunch of pics from guys' profiles off of the POF site. She and others were laughing at a lot of the guys who posted shirtless pics on their profiles. I have one on mine, and never thought it might be a sense of amusement. Do you ladies here think it's corny when you see one? I might take mine down here, and at POF depending on the consensus opinion. Thanks.

Seeing a shirtless pic makes me wonder a bit about the guy.
If you are just looking for an easy lay...go ahead.
If you are looking for something more I wonder a few things.
Does this guy think his body is the only thing he has to offer?
Is he hung up on the superficial?
What kind of pics is he going to ask me for right away?

If that is what you wanted to do....then by all means be yourself...
but if you did it because you thought the ladies wanted to see that type of picture then you weren't being true to yourself.
So.....in the end....? Make yourself happy and who gives a darn what anyone else thinks??
Besides people who laugh at and judge others are usually insecure people.....JMHO

Although I do agree with the other ladies posting here, myself personally.... I prefer to not see a guys shirtless pics.... It's kind of like knowing what your Christmas present is before opening it...

Look at it as a piece of art.. a nicely toned chest without a shirt is nice to look at... however...there are some that would be better off leaving the shirt on...that's all I am sayin

I think it's just another indicator of whether you'd be compatible or not, so do what you're comfortable with. If you take pride in your body and want to show off what you've accomplished, my personal opinion is Bravo! If someone finds that offensive, you might want to think about whether she'd be a good match for you anyway...

Thanks for the replies. I decided to leave the one up on this site, and take it down on POF. I'm not as well-known there. I'm not really expecting to meet someone in my area on this site any way, so I guess it's a moot point to worry about what others think of my pics.

To address Musicalbookworm, I've never asked for a naughty pic from any of the ladies here, and have never pushed one of mine on anyone else. Of course I won't turn one down if it is offered though.

As for your question, Lobo...the only thing I have against shirtless pics is this... If you start a relationship with a guy with one of these pics, you know that everyone else on here has seen him half naked and he's ok with that. In my experience, he will want scantily clad pics of me (which don't exist)...so...
If you are comfortable with your body (which you should be and appear to be) by all means, show it off... if persons of the opposite sex don't like it...they can move on to someone else..you probably wouldn't be compatible with them anyway...
