mom...I agree that it would ordinarily always be worth the effort, and whenever I find myself a gf I go to great lengths to try be pleasing to her, but the wimmenz I find myself attracted to online all seem to be the playa's who like to string me along, get me hopes up, and then slam the door shut in my face...I have really just given up on the idea of meeting anyone from online anymore...when I first started searching the internet there wasn't anything I wouldn't have done to meet an honest wimmenz...nowadayz you couldn't pay me to cross the street to meet anyone and I don't trust anyone anymore either...kinda sad, actually!

Someone above mentioned "taking risks"
perhaps try something outside your comfort zone, here's one that (eventually) worked for me-
Spend an entire day (i mean hours on end) by yourself walking thru crowded places - city centre/mall/parks/shops/etc - and just randomly opening conversations with women (assuming this is your interest), keep it light hearted/humorous and keep smiling 
So you may get nowhere that day, but you will have gained experience creating conversations out of nothing - this builds confidence - for e.g. grocery shopping, she has something in her basket, you ask her if an item of food/product is good, etc, and take the conversation from there.
Sure you might get nowhere for a few sessions, but you will get better at it and you will pull some digits, i assure you.
try it and let me know!

yes . I have stopped looking for love . I get e-mails from woman . when I go to read them , the person deletes ther account or htey are bots . I want the real thing . not someone you see once and never see them again .

they are bots That reminds me of an old saying which some women that I had "hit on" when I was in my early 20's used to tell me.
They told me...... You don't go looking for love, it will eventually find you.
 O.K. I'm 45 and I'm not hiding, so what gives?
Was that early 20's philosophy a big croc of ____? It seems to be the case unless you consider what the guy who posted above summerized...... They are bot programs by internet scammers looking for suckers.

The key is not to look.
When you stop looking, enjoy life...be yourself...that is when you find it.
Goes back to the secret thread....be yourself and happy...that shows. Then you can enjoy things and maybe love will find you

So that tells me you were not one of those women from my University that I was getting all flirty with and trying to get hooked up.
None of them used .....maybe, Geeeeze why am I thinking about my past again
