it's all about me - and a clown named "happy"

ok, so on another dating site (is there such a thing) i wrote to someone and oh meee gosh - the b*tch blocked me - no good reason, nothing - just like that (i didn't say anything inappropriate at all).

ok, my first impulse is that i'm so hideously ugly that she had to distance herself from me at all costs but eegads, usually that just results in someone not replying 99 times out of 100 - but i've never been blocked before.

so, i had to wonder - what could it be? the only thing i could think of is perhaps the be-atch was freaked out at my clown pics i have posted there?

i remember one time on MD - i had clown pics posted (can't remember if i do now or not). i wrote to one person and she never wrote back - nothing unusual there. then a few months later i changed pics and the pyscho contacted me. I was like "wtf - you don't have the decency to reply when i write a nice introductory email - why would you email me now just to say you like my new pic" - and she gave some lame BS about not replying at the time because my clown pic freaked her out - doh

now, needless to say, i could remove the clown pic - but i think it's funny and cute and if someone gets freaked out over that - well it's all good but they not be my kind of people anyhow - ha!

so, let's have it, how many people would not write or worse - block someone, merely based on a clown picture???

would the clown pic be the deciding factor? meaning if the guy seemed just so, nothing special - maybe the clown pic would push you over the edge enough not to bother to write back? or what if the guy was oooh HOT - and such, would you still then ignore because of a clown pic - or would that simply be brushed aside

inquiring minds would like to know?

I've never understood it, but a lot of people really ARE phobic about clowns. Of course we already know SirDid's absolutely HOT anyway...

I know, Heaven!
I know a LOT of people personally that are scared to death of clowns.
Not snakes, spiders or bats-but clowns.

Maybe Stephen King had a lasting impression...

Think about it do you really want someone who can’t get pass the clown? It could be that she just isn’t into you! A convenient excuses’? Who knows? Just keep on looking, as you know there are a lot more ladies on MD and some may just enjoy that fact you have a clown picture and see the humor in it. Good luck!

OK, so I wouldn't block...and I have no logical reason why clowns are creepy to me

...I guess that an initial picture like that might indicate that we probably wouldn't have much in common (or the same kind of sense of humor, perhaps -- lol, maybe it depends on the type of clown ) -- I'll often not respond (in a positive manner) to those whose pictures are all of them in front of big ol' badazz trucks, holding big ol' wet slimey fish, and every picture with them in cammo and baseball hats. Shallow, I know, but that "style" is not appealing to me, personally. That doesn't mean I won't talk to them in the forums, on a 'friends' level. I just wouldn't be likely to want to encourage them to be looking for anything more.
