bandtmom: I think Karma is a lot more complicated than the Law of Attraction but I guess it's in the same vein. What goes around comes around and all that. I really wanted to start a positive thread - there's way too much cynicism and negativity on a site that is promoting friendship and romantic relationships. I understand there are two sides to every coin but I'm hoping this will be somewhere to go when we need a boost of positivity.

I think about what I do have and not what I don't have. I also do not dwell on the past.

Sounds like your cup is half full if not full to the brim at times and you're living in the moment. I like to live life this way too - no harm in planning a little for the future but it's more important to enjoy the moment we are in because it will soon be gone.

Speaking of Universal Law of Attraction and Quantum Physics has anyone seen the
movie What The Bleep Do We Know? If you don't understand what Angel is talking
about, or don't think such things are possible it is a must see. It explains in lay persons
terms how Quantum Physics works, plus other sciences that prove we do have the
power to control our world. I watch it when I need to be reminded that Yes I can make
a difference.

Also, I would like to suggest a book to read...It is a book about Ancient Toltec Wisdom
called The Four Agreements. Don't worry, it's not one of those deep-over-my-head books.
It's actually pretty easy to read, and it will help...The four agreements are:

1. Be impeccable with your word.
2. Don't take anything personally.
3. Don't make assumptions.
4. Always do your best.

Sounds pretty simple huh? It also talks about how we have been programed from
birth...Hmmm, it's time for me to re-read it.

This is "The Secret"
No offense to anyone but 'The Secret' is a late comer. I have been doing this for myself and friends and clients many years before 'The Secret' came out. "What the Bleep Do We Know?" was better to me. The secret just copied all the little people doing their 'thang' in the metaphysical world for years.
It is attitude. And Gratitude. If you are totally grateful for all the GOOD in everything you see, then the good KEEPS COMING! I see great stuff even in the bad happenings.
Bad relationship? Well, didn't that show you what you didn't want so you could analyse what exactly that you DO want? How can you know what you want til you have the bad? It wises us up and educates the heck out of us. Everytime something bad happens, I reverse it. Well, that dude just did this. Now...what would I have LOVED to have had happen?
First, I work on feeling that bad stuff til I dissolve it. I use two techniques to dissolve the negative energies. PEAT and EFT. Then after I no longer have that negative charge, there is SPACE within me to fill with what I WISH to experience and express within my life.
Until you FEEL the feeling and dissolve it, neutralize it, it will overpower your positive creations. Be GRATEFUL for everything and see the good in all the bad so that THE GOOD overpowers the negative.

I think Heaven pretty much described how I live my life, too. I guess a few of us stumbled on "the Secret" and/or "Power of Attraction" and used it before it even had a name, lol. Dang, just think of the royalties we missed out on

I have to admit to using the same sort of "energy" to intentionally build a wall around myself for the last few years. It's worked, too....without irritating too many people. (I just haven't been in the mood to share my life, so it's not fair to encourage anybody...but that's not to say I'm going around blind, with cotton in my ears )

Redwicket: Books are great. I know a lot of people will say "it's time to put down the books and start putting it into practice" but it doesn't do any harm to keep them at hand to remind ourselves. Thanks for the recommendation - I'll bear it in mind, it sounds a little different to other stuff I've read.

None taken Spirit Energy I'm aware some of us came to a realisation long before The Secret or What The Bleep came onto the market - I know I did. I've not read the book The Secret but I've seen the film and I was a little disappointed. Mainly because it wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know and I wasn't impressed with the way it was filmed, I think it could have been done much better. However, I'm aware it's spoken to a lot of people and that's all that matters. However we get the message, the important thing is that we get it.

I'm with you too on the bad stuff. I've ended relationships it would have been easier to stay in because I now know what is right or wrong for me. It's hard at the time but there are lessons all the way along the line. My recent accident is a blessing, not a curse. Sure, it's frustrating at times not being able to simply walk across a room, and having to take an hour over something that used to take 10 minutes. However it's given me time to rest, let other's do for me for a change and take a good long look at life and everything around me.

I know why this happened to me and I also know how I could have avoided it. If I'd listened to my body and put myself first, made the changes that needed so badly to be made instead of sticking with what seemed easiest at the time then I would still be walking on two feet. Anything associated with the feet or legs indicates fear of moving forward and God knows I had a big block where it came to my job. I wasn't unhappy but I wasn't happy, I knew it wasn't right for me now, that it had served it's purpose. However, I kept putting it off. Now I have no choice, I've had to leave that job and I know I don't want to go back so I will HAVE to find something different when I'm back on my feet again.

Would you like to explain a bit more about PEAT and EFT or should people contact you by email if they're interested? I understand there are many ways to clear negative energy, some things work better for some than others because it needs to make sense to them. I do a lot of mental clearing if I can, I have a lot of faith in crystals and I meditate which I find serves me well in life in general. I'm aware sometimes we need a bit more help. I'm always open to different ideas - we need to be open or we won't grow and change. We also never know who might teach us something, everyone has something to contribute, we just have to listen.

The Secret is a amazing video. I think happy thoughts everyday...letting life take me where I must go. I dont dwell on the past, I learn from the mistakes and choices I made and move on from there. Life is too short to let negative people, game players, and phonies stir up stuff in your life. I just laugh and move on.

Haven't read The Four Agreements cover to cover, but it's on my list to read soon. My ex read it and took it to heart, also used references to the book as excuses for every mean, selfish, cold, and petty little thing he did! Of course, he is a master manipulator, I do take that into account.

It's sad to hear that the wisdom in the agreements was used that way...

This stuff has been around for forever, didn't just come in the last several generations...
and the books and videos help to remind you in a busy rush rush world that you can have
an effect on what goes on. It also gives you hope in a world where people want to poo
poo everything in an attempt to make themselves feel better. I do put this into practice
and it works, I keep the agreements posted on my fridge to remind me...

I would like to know what PEAT and EFT is, I'm guessing that it has something to do
with the bodys energy, but not sure...please explain SpiritEnergy.

Mom! There ya go! Yes, people can contact me but you can also buy the dvd's and do it yourself. I have to tell you that having someone help you set up the statements and comments helps a bunch. I took classes. And classes.
I am a facilitator but you CAN do it yourself. I always teach it a bit differently to my clients because I am an energy worker so I FEEL good things to do and seem to be attracted to people that steer me good. I have found different points both from Youtube and from clients! I had one client that kept doing it wrong, but I took what he was doing and incorporated a bit more and you can now hit three points at once in one tap.
I think Heaven pretty much described how I live my life, too. I guess a few of us stumbled on "the Secret" and/or "Power of Attraction" and used it before it even had a name, lol. Dang, just think of the royalties we missed out on
I know, Sun!
And BA!
I know why this happened to me and I also know how I could have avoided it. If I'd listened to my body and put myself first, made the changes that needed so badly to be made instead of sticking with what seemed easiest at the time then I would still be walking on two feet.
I know what you mean about this one. Seems like when we DON'T move, our crap blows up in our faces. We are being FORCED to move on.

Oh, it's the tapping points thing isn't it? I have done it too on myself...the points are the
same as acupressure from what I've read...those awful books again
I also do work with Chakras, got interested in them after I got my first aura picture taken.

With SRT you can clear all 725 chakras at once. (Yeah, there really ARE that many.) The trick tho is to clear the reasons and causes for the chakras to not stay open.
Lots of times, tho, there is a perfectly good reason for them to close or decrease and it is NOT a bad thing. Just a protective thing for the more kinesthetically sensitive people. A cleansed and healthy person will reopen their chakras automatically and close them the same. Like throwing up the hands to protect the face from something coming at you. I think it is a learned response. Not sure tho.
EFT is tapping, PEAT is similar but you don't tap. Yeah, I dislike reading those books too. When I read them, I read so much fear and limiting beliefs in some of them it sticks in my throat. Now I wait til the info is brought to me or take a class.

I wanted to make a comment on Karma. Karma is, like all other systems, a belief. It is a religious belief as well. Some belief systems can be fear based and can be very limiting. They can be pain based. All three of those are included in Karmic beliefs.
I am not saying Karmic beliefs are bad. Just letting you know that they can have negative side effects. Over the years I have been a practicing healer, I have found that those people that take particular beliefs they like and delete all the limiting portions and all the fear and pain based portions and actually write out and speak out loud those SUPPORTIVE, positive, graceful beliefs they have then RESCIND or revoke all the negative ones, always seem to have happier more blissful and creative lives.
So, just in case you WISH to take portions of one belief and portions of others that feel more happy and positive and wish to combine them, go for it. Let go of guilt. Let go of others desires to control how YOU wish to express yourself.
Even if you wish to express yourself in a painful and negative way, that IS your choice and your right. It IS a learning path and usually a hard one but many learn deeper that way.
This thread appears to be designed for facing life with a more positive expression in mind, so I hope we all find good, happy, graceful ideas for positively reinforcing our own custom built belief systems. When people wish to SHAKE or force you to change your system, you can gently dissuade them or just not notice them. It is a good thing to just pretend you didn't see it and eventually they will go where they can get the attention they want that they hopefully don't get here.

Okay, I just watched some of The Secret, I want to see the whole film asap...I too, already knew some of this. I'm anxious to learn more and to practice more of it.
A good book is Whatever Doesn't Kill Me Makes Me Stronger, can't think of the author right now. It taught me a lot and I now have more gratitude for all my good fortune, all my blessings. One thing that works for me, as far as feeling positive, is laughter, even smiling. Smiles attract smiles and smiles and laughs just feel good! For that reason, I spend a great deal of time with my grandchildren and come away from them renewed and happy every time! Thanks to you all for ideas.
