I learned that there are a LOT of ACTORS on this stage... and they ALL eventually screw up and do a header off the stage  .. but there are a LOT of wonderful REAL people on here too ... and those are some of the most awesome folks in the world

Well, I'd agree that MD is a lot more real than reality TV. I've learned that the phonies on here are far fewer than the real people. I've learned that the easiest way to figure out which are which is to meet them...the ones I've met have all been real, but I'm pretty sure that the ones that always find excuses not to meet are living their fantasies online. No problem with that, once the real ones understand...we can even humor them. I do hate seeing innocent flies wandering right into the spider's parlor, but at least they're not going to learn a final lesson, just a painful one.
I guess I've learned that Online and RL are much alike - it's all in the details and you have to pay attention.

I've learned that the easiest way to figure out which are which is to meet them ..........I totally agree.
I have learnt that people on the net arent necessarily how they seem. From experience I have learnt that *sometimes* the people who seem the strangest on here........are the loveliest people in real life....and arent at all like they seem online. Also that *sometimes*.....the people who seem the nicest online are far from it in real life.
I have learnt not to judge anyone by how they seem online....because it is not always the case.

I've learned to exhaust all your remedies before trusting anyone online. Especially - see them on webcam.

I've learned that I can look at a photo and describe a personality. That I can make a friend from across the country with only words. I've learned that very little romance goes on, but the friendships...they're as real as any I've ever had. I've learned that I'm not as thick skinned as I thought I was. And I've learned that only those who participate in online talk can understand what you get out of it.

That I can make a friend from across the country with only words .........that is sweet and so true Pamme......some wonderful friendships have come off the net. I have said this many times on MD.....but saying it again .....I met 3 of my best friends on the net.......(female)......years ago....and we have been best friends ever since....like sisters. So I will never knock net friendships....either male or female.
That is the main reason I have stayed on MD.....hoping to make friends with nice people from overseas. Not for the sake of *free accommodation* like many do on the net.......but just to meet up with them for lunch or whatever........and get to know them as people...and form a lasting friendship...(if it works out that way). There are some people who you BOND with on line and beyond (when you actually meet in person)........and that is a great gift.
Seeing that there are teaming millions of people all over the world........one surely has to get a few hits sometime...........LOL

I know that people OL are the same as RL.... it's just that sometimes they hide behind the computer screen and say things that they would never say in RL...
( not talking about me here as I am pretty much the same..I have my up times and my down times...)
....this thought keeps me centered with my dealings with OL people...

I know that people OL are the same as RL.... it's just that sometimes they hide behind the computer screen and say things that they would never say in RL ........Yeah there are a lot of those around too.......I agree!.
It irks me when many men say real grotty stuff to women.....for that reason.....BECAUSE THEY ARE HIDING BEHIND THE COMPUTER SCREEN........maybe many of them wouldnt say those things to a woman *face to face* in real life.
I am much the same in RL as on here....except that I dont act like a crazy person in RL.....as I often do on here....just for fun. Though I am a *teaser* in real life....not one of those teasers.....as in teasing males.....just a teaser with female friends and whoever in fun............I think its in my nature. Believe it or not......I am a mature adult in real life.........but on here you wouldnt think so..........
