Are we so caught up with the practical and common, that Prose no longer entices our longing for passion and romance? Has symbolism of the rose gone by the wayside?

I do believe it has become somewhat of a lost art. It is romantic though.
I don't know why, but the minute I read your post, I recalled Rod McKuen's, Listen to the Warm. I'm wondering what I did with that book. I may have to go search the shelves. Haven't read it in years.
Do you check out the poetry threads here? Angel5 wrote a fun poem about some of the forum goers. It's cute.

TAINQ...Have you by chance pondered into the "Poem" thread? Many have wonderful poems there-if you haven't, I hope you will find many to your liking. Angel

Maybe it's just that there are so few truly inspiring people in this world...a poet has to have someone special, someone who touches a place that rings just the right chord. It's rare, and you don't take it for granted when it happens.

Wow Danae, nicely said! but on the other hand when a man tries, and puts his heart into it, to write you something personal, even if it is kinda corny its beautiful! I have saved some of my warmest memories on scraps of paper left behind by some that are long gone.

Oh,
I would hope that is not the case, but you made me wonder.
I have to be in a tranquil setting, a quiet place, in order for my thoughts to flow.
There don't seem to be as many of those. The world seems to move at such a fast pace. Our creativity becomes stifled.
Could that be part of it?

Wanda,
I tell people, I have all of my men in boxes. I, of course, have to explain. I have shoeboxes with each man's name on the side, and I keep memory items in them from our relationships.
One of my ex beaus told me about an inky dink jar his grandmother kept treasures in, and as a child, he loved to play with all of the goodies.
I graduated from the shoeboxes, to the inky dink jar. I even bought him one in an antique shop for Christmas.

Classy..mine are like my sock drawer. Always finding a missing sock or a mixed match....
But on my serious side...Danae knows, huh?
Poetry to me is like taking a paint brush (pen)
and painting a world of colors from the heart.

I would say Poetry is dieing... not around as much anymore. I myself love poetry! And I wish I could write it but I'm much better at just reading it.

I'm pretty much with you, Ash.
I didn't recognize you earlier. I thought you were a new girl on the block.
You look all wintery.

Cute Wanda,
I'll bet you did your gravestone poem too. We need to finish hooking up your Skype. Maybe tomorrow night, okay? I'm fading fast here. I wanted to do some blogging before I go to sleep.
Hi Snappy,
Think you're up late enough?

I was going to try to make up a poem for you, but what the h*** rhymes with Wanda?
We did get your Skype up and running, but your mic didn't seem to be working quite right, birthday girl. You were a little tipsy by then. Was it drink #4?
