I agree with LB that it seems to get harder as we go along. But I think that's where hope and faith come in. Ditch the defeatist attitude LB and try to be more optimistic. Think "Little Engine that Could"! LOL

Mermaid you are correct with your opening statement.

Opposites attract? Only if one or both are insane.

YOU CHICKS THAT THINK YOU CAN CHANGE A GUY TOWARD YOUR LIKING ARE FOOLING YOURSELVES, YOU TOO ARE INSANE

Stop trying to change men. Also, Stop trying to think that we are implying something else than what we are actually telling you. There is no code or no implications going on.

(Exception) some guys may say that they love a woman, when asked, only so she will feel comfortable about giving him sex. He probably really doesn't feel that way though.

I think I may need to write a book just to answer this question. But I guess the best advice I have ever been given was last night from my best friend, Becky. We were discussing men as usual, she is single and 363 days older than me. But I was telling her that most of the men I had dated have approached me and started the relationship. And as you can see I am still single. But she said that I should be the one doing the choosing. To figure out what kind of man I wanted and date only those that fit in that profile.

She is right.

GEORGIA........I agree with your friend. This is what I tend to do.
I agree with SIGN also......that its easier said than done. I feel that if you like someone at face value.......or someone asks you on a date......if they seem ok...I usually always go.........because I think.....*well even if there is no chemistry or very little......I might make a good friend out of them*.......so I never miss an opportunity. But of course you have to like them to some degree first.....as people to want to go out with them.

It takes two to make or break a relationship, regardless of the situation. I was married to an alcoholic for 20 years, ..yet to this day I don't blame him totally. How can I, I was part of the relationship.

That every experience we have is a learning tool for the future.

I have learned that no matter how old and/or ugly the guy is, they won't have anything to do with anyone who doesn't look like a 16 year old super model. They will be be alone for the rest of their lives first. I have seen the same ugly idiots who rejected me becasue I am not good looking enough for them to talk to for 5 minutes, still on every dating site there is 5 years later - wondering what is wrong with women.

I have also learned that guys will say whatever they think you want to hear because they are all looking for a bootie call or a one night stand. MEN are a waste of time because we are never going to find any guy of any quality to spend any time with. They are either married or only looking for someone to have sex with once. It doesn't matter who they claim to be or what they claim to be looking for - it is all a lie.

I have learned that I have developed a strange and previously unknown talent of late. Actually, it is to powerful and awesome to be relegated to mere "talent" status . . .I have come to prefer calling it my "SUPER POWER!"

Even without the aid of a skin tight brightly colored Spandex "Super Power" suit, I have found that I can have a remarkable influence and effect on the women I come into romantic contact with. I can, without so much as breaking a sweat or increasing my heartbeats . . .take an interested, engaged and enthusiastic potential female romantic partner and . . .

. . .raise her to previously unreached, and perhaps unimagined levels of ambivalence and indifference.

I am now "The GREAT AMBIVALIZER"

Of course . .YMMV
