I was married to a man who was pretty "financially set" + some ... He never asked me to sign a prenuptual, and had he I would have never married him.

Yes I would! In today's world you would be pretty naive as to not have a prenup. I don't want him getting my Studebaker!

Yeah I'd be happy to sign - in fact I'd probably suggest one myself. I've got my own assets to protect.

Not only would I consider one based on my own assets, if necessary, but another reason for signing one might be to make sure I am protected if anything should "happen" to the marriage...I sure wouldn't want to get thrown out on my butt.
The way I see it, it works both ways....and in your best interest.

No one is getting my lint collection or nail clippings so a pre-nup is a pre-requisite.

Believe me, you'd be getting his Studebaker, not the other way around.

Teddy I am wondering why you feel a prenup is a deal breaker?

Willowy, I think trust is one of the biggest actions involved when it comes to relationships. I wouldnt want to go into a relationship/marriage feeling that he didn't trust me, believe in me enough to know that if it ended I wouldnt "take him" for all he had.
I'll also add that when I left him, .. I asked for nothing,... material wise at least. Only my self worth back.

Hi Diver!!! Welcome...
Prenuptuals...hmmm...well, if I were to marry again, which is highly unlikely, I wouldn't mind signing one...I don't want anyone to think that I want them only for what they have nor do I want someone wanting me for what I have!!! When I divorced, I gave my ex EVERYTHING but the kids....walked away with a small uhaul and a car full of children. I set him up quite nicely, actually. neither of us had much of anything before the marriage, so a prenupt would not have helped me!!
