What’s In A Name?

Does a person’s name make any difference to you in terms of how attractive they are in a romantic sense?

I’m talking about first name mostly, but sometimes last name too.

I’d have to say yes, for me. There are certain names I just don’t like very much. If a woman has that name, it places a check in the minus column for me. It seems odd to me, but it works like that.

Then again, you could change Christie’s name to Ezmerelda Brinkly and I’d still think she was one of the most beautiful women in my lifetime. So it only goes so far.

Still, it does affect my perception. How about you?

Some names aren't erotic/exotic like some others, and can give off an old-fashioned/antiquated image, but in the end it's the person that matters, not the name.

Okay, don't want to insult anyone here, but a grown man with a name ending in IE, just doesn't do it for me. Names like Ronnie, Donnie or Eddie just have an ick factor.

I have issues with some names as they remind me other a person that I disliked, a bad experience, or something like that. So, sometimes a name will initially bother me...but, once I spend time with a person, I can reassociate that name in a positive way... However, there are some strange names out there that I just can't imagine saying over and over...so, yes...a name can definite affect they way I feel about a person.

Well, the love of my life has what's probably the ugliest name I've ever encountered, but then my maiden name is probably the first runner up to it.

Hmmmmm....maybe that's why we were drawn to each other? And our families lived about 40 miles apart back in the 'old country'...

My real name sounds like something you need lotion for. I hope this doesn't ruin my chances.

I went to high school and college with a girl named Crystal. She had a perfectly normal last name...well she fell in love...Now her name is Crystal Ball.... I asked her why, in heavens name, didn't she keep her own name or hyphenate or something!!! True story, I couldn't make that up if I tried!!!

I guess if I really liked her, the name wouldm't matter, although I do think some names sound nicer to me than others.
For instance a name like Sasha Lovingston sounds sexier to me than a name like Ms Dingy Dinglemeyer.

I'm very sorry then.
it is a lovely name.

By the way, Cathy is a pretty name.
I also like the name Lisa.

No offense but I have a strong aversion to men named Bob... I've been with 3 of them in my life and they all lead to heartbreak

I'll stick with my Love, D.....
