I assure I am not the only one that notices unbalanced contents of profiles. I thought this would be a good topic to dissipate information to one another on profiles and/or other areas of questions in our minds. This topic is not pertaining to MD help, but just our own as individuals.

For example: I noticed a member that shows way different age, but pic shows way younger age of the gender. I ask in my mind, which is correct?

Its a positive topic to problem solving instances we come across on daily basis. I think it would end a lot of wondering in our minds by seeing other members posts as to their findings and how the problem solving solutions are dealt or if need advise to be dealt with. Also sometimes we individually see something, but maybe not the whole scope is in view. So this would be an excellent place to post those concerns or questions.

Please Note: This is a topic for Win/Win situations, not Win/Lose-Negative first posts are not a contribute to win/win. So please join our forum 'Neighborhood Watch' and help one another.

(Update Thoughts) We whiners and cry babes are welcomed too!

Angel.........

I`ve seen profiles with the pic of a movie star..now whose not gonna notice something like that...I too have seen the pics that portray a much younger person..I don`t understand why they feel the need to do that unless they have something to hide

I agree whole heartedly Tink...

Since I am in the CA state, many in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area do use the Hollywood type pics. I usually read the profile to see their occupation. In my searching cases, I have found the members have occupations in Photography, Entertainments and Modeling careers. That explains my locals ones. But the ones that do not, are very questionable..

I am not sure what we will be doing in this thread. Will we post a profile name and ask opinions of what others think? Such as multiple profiles, fake pics, conflicting info in profiles and emails?

You know what, I would much rather post a crappy pic of me than post a pic where I look better than I usually do., because that way you are certain of someone being unpleasantly surprised when they meet you. Luckily I am completely unphotogenic and have no worries about my pics being too complimentary! lol

But back on topic, I am always suspicious of photos that are obviously posed for professionally.. it just deosn't ring true with me!

Edited to make sure I answered the actual topic question!

'SpyderLady', I did bring to MD's attention on multiple profiles of same member issue. I had questions on that type of profile demeanor. But to answer your question, yes! If you have a question or notice something that just don't seem to jive in conjuntion there of.

I am not sure if MD would allow posting particular member handles here, but to be safe, you can always email someone in this thread to ask first. Just until we know what MD will allow to post on personals as yet. I would refrain on posting any personal material such as; phone numbers, emails addresses, websites, personal addresses, etc. to uphold the MD rules; things of that nature. It's best to use direct email contact on the direct personals. Hope this post helped answer your questions in mind.

Some dating sites recommend that you get your picture taken professionally. Bottom line is - it's supposed to look like you - even if it's you at your best. One would assume that if you're meeting someone for a date, you're probably going to go to some effort to look nice.

'China'...your just a doll! Anyways, I agree with your personal preference too. Thats why its such a nice feature from MD to have 5 photos that we are allowed to download. Also, when I see a port-folio pic and no other, and I am interested in the member on a personal level, I usually send a nice intro email with the in-mind question. If no response, then I got my answer. If I receive a response, then I got an answer.

I agree with you Pete also! We have such a variety of photo shoots available to us in the real world. Like for mine instance, I went to Sears and had them done because I own no digital camera or have anyone to take a good pic of me momentarily. Personally I am not photogenic. Not many people like having their pics taken, I one of them. But its the real me. I have some other poses on same photo shoot, but I was sick at the time with a flu and wow, I have those black eye rings. Yuck! who wants to see those! hehee

But like your photo, its nice cause you can see you very clearly and it is in a natural setting. I like those the best.

Angel...I think this thread is a wondermous idea! I'm very skeptical by nature and would really like to know what to watch for in a profile. Sometimes things just don't ring true, but you never know...could just be an oversight. I think that some people....maybe men more than women, don't really revisit their own profiles and might never know that it throws up a red flag to readers.

Once again....you're on top of it all! Thanks for watching out for all of us!

Oppsss. I wonder who she could be thinking of?

Funnily enough someone emailed me today to ask if I was really 99.
I'm afraid I couldn't resist teasing her and replied that I was really 102 but had had to fib about my age as the numbers only went to 99.
Now I see it's become quite fashionable to be 99 on here. Which is bloody annoying for those of us who really are that young! For goodness sake girls, stop lying about your age or I'll be forced to spank you.

It was taken in my back yard - but my back yard was very natural at the time - it backed up to hiking trails. I took the photo myself with a timer and tripod - same with my other photo.

Apparently not. Am I allowed to say they may be a few rubbers short of the full pack?

Angel54214 wrote: The person is not aware of the 'foreign block' in the home page and to profile account setting. So they figure it would keep foreigner scammers away.

That may be true for some, it's not the reason I did it. I *AM* a foreign scammer, angel. At least in MD's eyes as I was not privileged to be born (or reside) in the Glorious Land of the Brave and the Home of the Free. If I blocked 'foreign mail' many of my US chums on here would not get through to me as much of their mail ends up in my 'filtered mailbox' ALL the mail from Texas does. Go figure as you'd say. And I'm not about to block Texas. God's Own Country? The Home of the Prez?? No sirree barb!!!

Aside from that, I was getting two many emails from HOT 25-year-olds who wanted to 'cyber me'.
Can I help it if I'm such a stud?
Keep up the good work, ma'am.

Jeff...thats a great visual. I have run across that myself. If get a ligit email from same type of situation, and I am interested knowing more about the person on a personal level, only then I will ask in an email questions first regarding it. I check their profile on the occupation right away! if it don't jive with international employment, I pass. If it seems to at first, I fire away with questions about our country that they wouldn't really know the answers to right away. Then see what the reply to the questons are.
