In todays society calling someone fat is such a NO! NO! But people feel free to go ahead and call a thin person anorexic. Why??? THAT is NOT a compliment. How many times have I heard "why don't you eat a cheeseburger?""OMG, you look sooooo anorexic" "eat something" Why is it okay to say that chit? I don't go up to heavier people and say "Stop eating cake." or "Get back in the gym." "yes your azz does look fat in those pants"
It's discrimination pure and simple! Some of you don't think of it as offensive because you feel everyone wants to be thin. People seem to overlook the fact that slim people do not like the names just as much as the heavier ones. It is not okay to hate someone because they have a skinny azz..pick another reason.
Beauty should not be measured in pounds.
And have a good day!

I was always a tall skinny kid at 20 I was 6'4 and weighed 150..It took me forever to finally fill out all over..I had some skinny legs, and a high metalblism. Now I go between 190-200..fits me well.
They are double standards with anything. I see people as people myself.
I dated a girl once she hated being skinny..I always told her she looked great, and also one that had a little extra weight. To me it is no big deal.
People make comments about others because there is something they are insecure about.. Or they are just A-holes..or a combo of both !
I didnt like loosing my hair..But you either accept it, or be miserable.
I always had long hair growing up..rocker ;) And I heard alot about that , just have to be who you are..not worry what other people say

It's just thoughtless...I hope this wasn't a friend of yours thinking she was paying you a compliment? If so, I hope you set them straight!

Here here Willow!
IN my younger days people would ask "have you lost weight"?
AT one point (20s) I got tired and would reply" NO, you gained weight", they stopped after that
I am in my 50s now, still thin and enjoy it

You are right. There is a double standard. I remember being a fat girl and being so f***ing jealous and saying that stuff. Sometimes though with some girls I really DO get worried, like with my sister's friend Ava because she lost a drastic amount of weight in a very short amount of time and she wasn't eating.
I am also kind of an outspoken person and I DO make it known, right or wrong, as my boyfriend does, that I am not attracted to skinny women. Maybe I should curve that behaviour.
Anyway, skinny or fat...doesn't matter as long as the person inside is good.

Well, I learned something here. I always thought calling someone thin was a compliment and never considered that they might not like being thin.

Sorry to hear someone hurt your feelings like that.
I think a lot of people actually think they are paying someone a compliment y making comments like those - since in our society, it's a common belief that the "skinnier" the better...
I think there is a point when a person can be too skinny, just as there is a point when a person can be too fat (*I crossed that line long ago, and trying to get back over it! lol)... But I don't think you have crossed the line, either direction. You appear to be at a healthy weight, from your pics.
I wouldn't worry too much about what someone says about you. Maybe they genuinely meant it as a compliment(?), or maybe they are a catty person, trying to break your confidence. What matters is that you are happy with yourself.

Just another double standard I live by no one else's standards then my own. Many have tried, all have failed when it comes to "molding" this man to conform til their idea of a standard. I gets pretty much gonna stay that way. Besides at the end of the day, it what we are that counts. Totally. Who you are, who I am. What we choose to share and care over. It's all the same.
So try to live out of others box thinking, its quite freeing when ya come to realize, no one else opinion means any truths of you. Only you and those you allow. Know that you are beautiful, and you are. Know that you think you are not, then you are not.
The size issue is just another pointles lable, a sub gate to the larger and simpler problem to solve.
