I’m wondering about other people’s online dating experiences. Let’s compare answers to the following 5 questions.
1. What is your gender?
2. How long have you been participating in online dating?
3. What are you trying to accomplish with online dating exactly? What is your desired outcome?
4. What are your top 3 biggest frustrations when it comes to online dating?
5. What is your biggest fear when it comes to online dating?
6. If you could think about 1 obstacle that if removed from your way would make the biggest impact to your success dating online, what would that 1 thing be?
For me it goes like this:
1. Male
2. 3 years
3. LTR
4. fakes/liars, shallowness, everyone’s profile sounds alike
5. someone misrepresenting themselves
6. the stigma associated with it

those may be some really great questions for some.... but questions asked in a manner like that can be taken as insultful to some. generally I like to scan a profile for those things that matter like age, profession, likes and dislikes to get a grasp on a person and not ask questions in the gestapo manner.
I'm not saying I dont ask but there are better and more easy going ways to ask...
if someone refuses to answer or gets insulted by you asking a question, LOOK OUT !!! you should take it as cue to RUN !
I see no point in asking 1, as the profile will state your gender ( hopefully be true too .. lol)
2 and 3 I dont see any point to ask.. dating is frustrating and many people don't know why they are dating... its up to you to figure it out and if they are worth persuing a relationship with.
The questions you ask are not ones I would be asking.
I would be asking things more along the lines of: tell me about yourself.

3. trying to find a lifelong love, that is the outcome
4. women who won't reply even when I tell them I have a picture I can send them, women who only write back short stupid notes in return, women who tell me I'm too far away even after I tell them I am willing to relocate.
5. none
6.women who want to take wks and wks, or even months, of emails before they will get to the chat stage, or even to consider the idea that I am serious about hoping to meet them someday and will travel anytime to do so.
4 & 6 are the worst, but it may soon be all over for me because I finally met a woman on a different site who wasn't afraid to start chatting with me right away, and we are getting along famously, and have even mentioned its not out of the question that we might meet after some time getting to know each other better, which is how this stuff should work...if it does happen to me, you'll never see me back here again!

LTR or I guess as some may put it "the one"
4. What are your top 3 biggest frustrations when it comes to online dating?
jaw dropping dishonesty ( from the evidence I get its for both men a women.)
the extremely high men to women ratio
the scam emails
5. What is your biggest fear when it comes to online dating?
meeting a woman who isnt who she claims to be. I mean something serious like you fall for her only to find she is married or I suppose a con.
6. If you could think about 1 obstacle that if removed from your way would make the biggest impact to your success dating online, what would that 1 thing be?
even out the playing field.. This site and all other sites should be 100% free to all ladies until you have at least a 55 45 ratio..right now most sites are at least 3 men to 1 women
be it that it is a business until it is even men should have to pay 3 times the cost. It should never be free for men unless for some biazare reason the table turn.
I feel very strongly about this. If i knew of a non padded site that had this heck yes i would without hesitation pay 3 times the cost..

2. I'm not really an online dating participant...I just hang out here because it's fun and I've been here almost 2 years.
3. I'm just here to let more people get to know how wonderful I am.
4. I'm not really frustrated, although if I was on here seriously looking for someone I'd have to say it would be that not even one member is remotely close to me at all.
5. My biggest fear would be falling for someone I can't have, and that they would be so far away would it even be worth it to take the chance.
6. The biggest obstacle for me would be that I'd have to become an American.

4. Not actually meeting or distance, insincerity, finding someone who isn't actually jaded or talking about their ex for hours non stop on a first date...I am understanding and a good listener........not a trained counselor.
Biggest Fear of online dating:
5. That this cycle of first dates and opening myself up will never end.....
Biggest obstacle to be removed:
6. Distance, better matching capabilities and less evil motives, oh and everyone should have a picture (not 10 yrs old)

A year and half....kind of...
3. What are you trying to accomplish with online dating exactly? What is your desired outcome?
In the beginning, to actually meet someone. Now? I am just on to keep in touch with female friends (and Doug )
4. What are your top 3 biggest frustrations when it comes to online dating?
If you are real, people with start biting at your ankles and work their way up.
Men looking for a quick hit.
Women who see any other vag as competition instead of another human being looking for interaction.

Now? Fears? I have none.

Well distance is always an issue.
