OK, this observation comes up from time to time. But DAMN it is a mind bender!
I just saw a woman’s profile which is not all that unlike others I have seen. All over it, in bold, underlined, in capital letters and italics, repeated about 10 times was:
I’M NOT HERE LOOKING FOR SEX!!!!
OK, I think she made the point! It‘s not that I would be interested in having sex with her anyway, but I understand, there are a lot of men in these places looking for cheap thrills who get their ya yas by sending women sexual messages and she is trying to discourage that.
But wait! What about those pictures?!
The first one has her breasts sticking so far out of her shirt that you feel like your gonna get a nipple stuck in your eye just looking at it.
The second one has her in an outfit so tight you can not only tell what sex she is you can tell what RELIGION she is. You’d never wear that in public unless you pick up men on street corners for money.
The third one is a lingerie shot for cryin’ out loud!
Not looking for sex? JEEZ! I wonder what she looks like when she IS looking for sex?! 
They say men tend to misinterpret women’s intentions when it comes to sex. Ummmm ... I wonder why that is?!

I hear ya DR, that always cracks me up as well. If a person were looking for sex, wouldn't it be much easier to hit the "meat market" side of town?  Odds are, if your willing to lower your standards, one could find sex in real life a lot easier than sitting home with your pc & hoping someone knocks on your door.
The other one I see a lot in profiles that kind of cracks me up - "I want a guy that can make me laugh."
I get that sense of humor is important. That said, you rarely see people who say "I don't enjoy people who laugh. I need a guy who's heavily sedated & boring. If you make me smile - your ass is history!"
I mean really, shouldn't a sense of humor fall into the "assumed minimum requirements" category?

Not directed at anyone here...but some men really do need it spelled out for them. In my single days, I ran across a LOT of men who had NO sense of humor at all. So, nope.. you cannot always assume that they really do get it without telling them straight out

I ran across a LOT of men who had NO sense of humor at all. So, nope.. you cannot always assume that they really do get it without telling them straight out
I hadn't thought of that, but it makes, I get it.
I have no way to know this, but it's my guess that most people (male or female,) assume they have at least a decent sense of humor. (That's what their friends tell them anyway.) For one to think that they don't have a sense of humor, is essentially admitting that their dull/boring. It's my guess that most non-medicated people don't think that way. Just a guess though.

This is a tricky one, because the first message it says is "I don't like sex," whether the lady intends that or not, it is still how a lot of guys percieve it. And a lot of guys, such as myself, came out of marriages where we rarely ever got any sex and never enough of it. She would be wiser to say something like, "Hey, I like sex as much as anyone else, but I want a relationship to go along with it, so friends first."
Over at Plenty Of Fish people can put a list of "Must Not's" where it says to describe who you are looking for, such as,
Must not smoke.
Must not have messaged others looking for sex.
Must not be older than blah blah,
Must not be looking for intimate encounter.
You get the idea. Anyway, when I see a profile with a whole string of Must Nots in that area, I just bypass it because I figure the gal is too finicky and probably is not looking for anything but someone to argue with.
