Gallows, darlin'
Please feel free to post that picture.
I'm sure MANY women would ... *ahem* ... appreciate it.

Since I have it hidden in my profile pictures ... A lot of women haven't been *exposed* to it.

well, I think older women having shorter hair is just accepted as the norm. Most women nearing senior citizen age don't look good with longer hair. I don't think they like to be bothered with maintaining it either.

Ok, I get it that it can be because it is easier to manage if shorter or just that you can.

So,
Now explain this

If 100 women go into the beauty salon 90 come out with the 'Poodle Hair Curl Doo'

Women will die a thousand deaths to not dress alike when going to a party but when it comes to their hair style

It's all done into that tight curled 'poodle doo doo'.

One time I said that to my mom as she was fixing my grandmothers hair.

I did not sit for a week after my grandmother got done applying the rod of respect to my keister.

I guess I still haven't learned that lesson.

For me, Ive always had my hair long and curly, and been lucky that its all natural, Ive never had to have a perm to make it so.

But as I have got older and going thru the big M.. my hair has thinned a great deal which is natural in that process, I dont think Ill be able to keep it long for much longer as long thinner hair doesnt look as good, which is why some women choose to have it shorter as they grow older.

I goofed...GH had a pic posted for a short while but I didn't save a copy...my bad

And yes, long hair...

CT - maybe it's just your locale - I can't remember the last time I saw a woman with a 'poodle' cut...if I went back to short hair I'd also get rid of all the coloring. My natural hair color is still mostly brunette, but all white at the front - my favorite cut when it's natural is nearly a long crew cut, with the white flairs at the front it's pretty cool...but no poodle curls, for sure!

Once again, Heaven and I thought the same thing at the same time. I was going to say that it must be a "regional" thing...I see very few "Poodle Doo's" around here...except maybe from the RVers/tourists passing through. (Maybe it's too windy or maybe not enough humidity to frizz the hair into tight curls )

(In Florida and other retirement communities they're often referred to as "Q-Tip Heads". I don't think I know any personally, though. Most of the "older women" who I know have either long hair or ultra-trendy spikey, if it's short -- and it's usually colored -- somewhat, at least -- instead of all white or grey. )

I kinda prefer longer hair on ladies, myself. And believe me, since it's been a number of years since I have run into many women with hair longer than my own, you're not telling me anything new about what taking care of it is like. (Except that I don't color mine.)

I'm guessing the poodle doos actually like their hair that way. And blue to boot!

Also some older women think it looks more 'seemly'. I know that's why my mother cut her hair at about 40, she didn't think it 'appropriate' to be 40 and have long hair.
My...how times have changed.

I only grow my hair so I can cut it off again and go for a more dramatic change. Currently I'm short and platinum, but next year I could be shoulder length and brunette...or not.

It's only hair, cut it and it'll grow again. It doesn't change who you are, just how you look.

I rarely see any really short, very tightly curled hair anymore.
A variety of hairstyles around here, boy-cuts to really long and straight.
A girl at work had extremely thick hair to the middle of her back and started having migraines.
Her doctor said her neck was too slender to hold up all that hair...

*edited for an oops!
