I did a search for gals within 75 miles in a 16 year range 7 years older and 9 years younger.I'm 54 .This includes 3 large cities, Cincinnati being one....I checked the didn't matter box for everything except smoking...It turned up a dozen or so matches that have been active in the last month or so..Most of the profiles were pretty lame and pretty much said nothing..A couple were pretty good and had pics....I was too old for 4 gals and of the 8 or so left I wrote 5. None wrote back so I guess that's it.....I do get alot of mail from 30 year old fashion models and gals from China....Ok cigar chompin old men somewhere in Africa.. Is this typical???

Most of those are scammers. Be careful.
Maybe you should broaden your search in distance a little.

Dude! It's FREE! There tends to be less constant member activity when you aren't coughing up $30 a month. Quite honestly, if you want QUANTITY, you'd be better off with Match of Yahoo Personals. But by all means....stay here for FUN!

Thanks all...Yeah I have a small business that does pretty well so relocating is not for me..I did another search and went from 75 miles out to 120 and got another 3 gals...I will write all three even though nothing in their profile appeals to me...They just fill in the blanks and say nothing...Hey if the gals get responses with lame profiles that's cool. Loreli...you do have a nice profile...I 'll keep ya posted as far as if any of the other 3 respond...I'm lookin at a couple of pay sites but ya gotta post a profile to browse so that might give a misleading impression too...maybe internet dating is all fluff..

well, pretty much all fluff and no stuff is what I've ever encountered here, lots of playa's and I'm pretty boxed in even tho I assure the gals I attempt to contact that I'm willing to relocate...

As in real life, things take time. Just because this is the internet, it doesn't mean one is going to get overnight results. I've said it for years, and still believe that the only thing the internet is going to do for you is give extra exposure and opportunity to meet someone. The internet and dating sites are not miraculous....just another door to open. It's a form of introduction but does not in any way mean a dream is going to be delivered!
(BTW.....your "basics" say you're 54, but the "About Me" states you are 50. To a great majority, that is a red flag. You might want to correct that!)

Thanks "eyes of blue"....I don't know how I messed that up.....I changed my age to 55 cuz I'll be 55 in a couple of weeks..I did the forum thing to see what others had to say and you caught my typo...Maybe I was wishin I was 50....Too bad I Emailed all the available gals(8) within 120 miles with the glitch in my profile but I will be patient and wait till more women join..

I've met and dated 2 guys from MD but I have made many many more good friends. And I've met over 30 people in person at one of the gatherings. I figure if I can't meet the guy of my dreams, at least I'm getting a lot of good friends!

I've learned I'm the most desired man in China, Africa and Russia (a touch of sarcasm) but the women within a 4 hour drive from me wouldn't touch me. It's not just here but all the online date sites. I like MD because it's free to contact someone. On the others you have to pay and PRAY they've paid too so they can return a reply. MD is more "real". The other pay sites have teaser fake profiles of super models types. MD is also a good cyber community for singles to discuss real world adult dating.
I've given up on finding anyone online.
