In another perspective, if you weren't a nice guy you may have never even gotten that far.

I thought dates were times to go out or spend with one another in order to get to know each other. Friendships can be formed by dating and discovering the potential for romantic involvement isn't there. Just because you go on dates or meet someone through a "dating" site doesn't mean they are going to be "THE ONE".

'Course, that's just my opinion.

It happens bro. I do not stick around when I get that routine, I just move on. When a woman says she just "wants to be friends," it most often means that she really wishes you would vanish into the black hole from whence you emerged. Don't take it personal, just let her be and move on. If you really want to read about some puzzled frustration, read my post/thread "Am I Missing Something?" I am still shaking my head over that one.

You are definitely not a country girl, lol. That is an elk, and a fine looking one.

I kinda think a really great relationship, should be built with "friends" as the foundation!

Maybe being friends might be a great way to build into somethng later
Personally, I like being "friends" with my best friend!

Maybe they don't see a future...You could be too far apart...Or have different things you want out of life...You can only know that by talking and getting to know each other good/well.

Are you sure feelings started to "come out on" both people? Perhaps they were not the same feelings for both?

And then again, maybe some of us are just looking for friends right now. I don't have time for a real relationship at the moment. Although if I met someone I really really liked, I'd try to make it work.

I wish I knew my friend Tractor Dave wanted to be a "just friend". I would be more than happy to pal around with him....he's a great guy and we could do things together and have fun. But I gotta sneakin' suspicion that he'd like to be more and I can't be, so I put him off. Sad, that. He's lonesome too, and I could add to his life, but the "just friends" thing....no one wants to hear that.

Well I guess it was only natural that I assumed she was talking about the picture on his postings in this thread. Sue me. Lol.
