Over on Pof I read the profile of a local lady who lives about two miles away from me and thought she would be a good candidate for dating. I wrote to her and we exchanged a couple of messages. The other night when I got off work and walked home, it was a lovely evening, a bit windy, bright stars in the sky with golden leaves blowing off of a cottonwood in the glow of an amber streetlight. I wanted to share it with her, so I wrote to her and told her of it. Apparently this was a total turnoff to her. She wrote back saying that she was not interested in such "mushy" stuff, that she was a tomboy and that she was no longer interested in me because of it. I am not distressed over it since I do not really know the lady at all other than two or three messages we exchanged. She means nothing to me, but I am totally baffled at such a scathing shutdown. It sounds as if she think I am some sort of a gay sissy for writing about such things? Perhaps it was just a rude way of getting rid of someone she was not interested in from the first.

custis...sounds like a nice thing you did, imo...
but as has already been said....everybody likes something different....OR like YOU said...maybe it was just the excuse she used to blow you off.
You just keep on keepin' on man!

Sounds like she wasn't really all that interested in the first place. You're right to just move on.

well, custis, kudos to you hey! I thought that was rather considerate and pretty romantic of you to tell her...in the future, as one very wise and cool cavewoman-babe from MD advised me, also do not ever tell 'em your lonely right away either, if you are, cause some will think your needy and will avoid you after that...and gee, I wonder what this "tomboy" would ever think of me if I met her and suggested that I'd like to see her wear a nice feminine skirt sometime...

Sorry, not my style. If someone says they are not interested I just vanish. Only someone who is insecure and desperate would continue writing to such a person. I am just academically curious about such a reply to message. It makes no sense.

Just stay here at MD. Where everybody knows your name.
The other night when I got off work and walked home, it was a lovely evening, a bit windy, bright stars in the sky with golden leaves blowing off of a cottonwood in the glow of an amber streetlight. I like it. If I were a woman I would've fallen in love.

she has shown you she doesn't have the ability to be in a relationship. obviously she will break contact with very little reason so this speaks volumes to who she is. you could do the childish hurt feelings thing and call her a dyke good to read your above that.

You know what Custis?
She's just a mean bitch! I'm sure there are many ladies here who would enjoy that and having it sent to them.
All I can say is sometimes when we first start talking with someone we may be uncomfy when they get mushy on us at first...That's how I am.

Custis I would have told her to kiss my go-to-hell. What with all the pervy mail that women receive on a daily basis, seems to me pretty words would be appreciated ?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Hey, I cater to fetishes in an equal-opportunity spirit. I have put in my time covered with motor grease.
Willowy, that Dutch-girl get up with the cigar really becomes you.

Custis the only thing I think you are missing is a woman who appreciates you.. its certainly NOT that nasty twit who was so rude to you... lucky thing you found out about her REAL self early on huh?? Dont stop being gallant or romantical hon.. some of us out there really love it when their S/O shares their experiences like you do... I know I love hearing about Macs day.. brings me more into his life

I'm certainly not an expert, but I think it's the mushy stuff that touches our hearts the most and makes us realize just how truly Blessed and grateful we are to have that special someone or children in our lives. This is the time of year to reflect on how truly, it's the simpler things in life that make us happy.
