False.. the older I get the more I realize romance does not have to be present to just want sex....cuddling is nice.. foreplay is nice.. but to me that is not romance.
I am romantic and do love to be serenaded the entire day..that leads to very nice lovemaking.. but nothing wrong with a round of hot sex now and then too

Depends...we talking in a relationship? or not?
Obviously, if not in a relationship, then who needs the romance? It's a booty call, get it and then get out.
At least SOME romance is needed to keep a relationship going. While in a relationship, and there is no romance, then there would not be a relationship...ergo, no sex. And we're back to a booty call or friends with benefits.
Although, I do know a few couples who don't subscribe to the romance shtuff and think they're in a relationship. I think they're in a friends with benefits. But that's just my perspective.

I think you need to define romance - I think we can all agree on what sex is, unless we're the POTUSA.
If you're talking serenades and flowers and stuff like that, I don't really need or even want it...if you're talking cuddling in front of the TV watching a football or hockey game, I'm a happy camper indeed...and if you're talking a starlit night in front of a campfire, I'm REALLY a happy camper...and that will be one hot tent, guaranteed.

Sometimes, sex is just a pleasurable way to spend a little time, and it's more fun than watching the Weather Channel. Sometimes, it's done just because you want to please your partner, sometimes it's done because your partner has pleased you. Sometimes, it's just because you were horny. I pray I NEVER hook up with another woman who uses sex as some kind of "reward" system. As far as I'm concerned, she isn't much different than a hooker; she just wants payment in something other than the coin of the realm.

First comes romance THEN , if I am lucky sex . NOT sex first . sex on MY terms . what woman wants sex when theman demands it . if , that was the case . Woman would be on there knees all the time . first we meet . then we go see a movie likie marley and me that is playing . then romance .followed by foreplay and THEN IF I am lucky she will say " let's do it " .

Sex shouldn't HAVE to be the final result of romance
Sending flowers JUST to show you love them.
Candlelit dinner just to show how you appreciate their company.
And I agree it isn't always necessary to be romanced to enjoy sex with one you care about.
