Okay,
I was about to steer away Angels thread, so I decided to staart a new one.
Bars: No Good! 
My first marriage was arranged by Mr. Killans Red and was a bad country song.
Oh I met while drinking a beer.
She made me awefully queer.
So I got to sing,
On the kareoke machine.
I tried to sing Buffet,
And the night ended drunk off my tuffet.
We got drunk again month later,
I proposed sh!t faced and met her vader.
So that May I said "I do",
My family didn't like so said "F you"!
The b!tch that was bride,
Sucked away my pride.
And left me,
In the homeless covered in cat pee.
Now I'm penniless, my dog died, and she took my truck.
Now I'm sh!t out of luck.
Oh as for bars,
The Killian's Red took me too far,
Oh my life is hard!
Church: That's a good place to meet. May take a while, but hang out with the folks who have children your age, and one of them is bound to have a single daughter! 
Besides, a little JC never hurt anyone.
12 Step meetings: BAAD place to meet women, unless you plan on collecting a silver chip together following your honeymoon.
Psych hosipitals: Great for needy women to get hooked up with. Expect issues!

The fault lies not in the stars Horatio, but in ourselves...  Sounds like both of you are doing okay anyway -
I don't do bars, everybody at work is married or in a relationship, I was pretty much limited to the net...lucky I live in a city with a high concentration of singles who are looking. Even with dates just about every weekend for nearly two years, it took that long to meet my SO. On the other hand, without the net, I still wouldn't have met anybody.

I check out everyone's profile.
Best to know who I'm talking to before I open my big fat mouth. 
If I tell someone "goss it's cold today" and their in Mississippi, they might think I mean 40 degrees when I mean -5. But If I tell someone from Minneapolis it's a warm January, they know I mean 20 degrees.
BTW I kid you not - after a week of sub zero temps, 30 degrees feels like tanning weather!

- on public transportation (in Europe)
- at the gym
- volunteering
- cultural events
- meetups
- interest groups (languages, hobbies...etc)
