An alternative theory from Belarus states that the holiday originates from the story of Saint Valentine, who upon rejection by his mistress was so heartbroken that he took a knife to his chest and sent her his still-beating heart as a token of his undying love for her. Hence, heart-shaped cards are now sent as a tribute to his overwhelming passion and suffering

And the cards for their toddlers lol... I even saw a Mustang (car!) wrapped up in a bow outside Walmart once... With a HUGE HEART BLIMP floating above it...
Soo... the Belarus theory is that Rudolph Valentino was a bleeding-heart liberal??
And do panties come in the heart-shaped box packaging?

My ex husband used to buy me roses at the Exxon gas station.
He would stop on his way home walking home from the bar while I sat home with the children alone eating chicken nuggets. He was such a romantic.
This is the last time I will post on this thread because I do not have one good membory of Valentine's Day in the 18 years we were married....or ever in my life for that matter. So,
