I put a suggestion in the suggestion box that I be given the option of blocking emails from people who have never viewed my profile (similar to the block on foreign email). Seems like that would minimize the BS spam and scam emails.
What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea Grey although i haven` had anyone say they haven`t read my profile..actually they comment on it a lot...I get emails where their just writing to tell me they like it...I recently changed my description to see if the positive emails would stop...but i still get just as many compliments..
I`m not bragging here,just stating a fact...

As a gold member. I can see who has or has not viewed my profile. Spam and scam ALWAYS comes from people who have not viewed my profile. If they had to go to each person's profile it would slow them down considerably.
Count me amongt those who enjoy your profile, BTW.

I've never read a profile until after the woman and I had exchanged a wink and a few letters. I always act first based upon the picture. Although I will admit that I have, once or twice, winked at someone w/o a picture...just to sort of balance things out I guess...and in that circumstance, I may have actually read at least SOME of the profile. Mostly what I do though, is go by intuition and any sense of a woman's beauty that comes across in the picture. And I'm never just interested in the outside beauty alone...in fact, I probably give more weight to inner beauty than to outer beauty. I mean, except late on a Friday or Saturday night when things are turned up to wow and then all I have on my mind is pure, white hot, old'fashioned dependable CHEMISTRY. And I've NEVER even cracked open a chemistry book nor read one word of chemistry. So it's a mystery. We men, especially me, are, let's face it, mostly wingin it anyway here. I was going to say we're idiots but then I'd have half the listings here seconding the motion...and most demanding my immediate surrender. I do surrender, by the way.

Hey Tink...i agree with you on the "response" bit....but when a guy winks at me and i read their profile before i respond, and see that their "ideal" match is dark or black hair and 6 ft tall, etc (of which i am neither), most of the time they get no response or an email asking why they send winks or emails to people that they have no ideal interest in.....i am nice about it though..... but none the less, winks and emails just telling you that you have a nice smile, etc. are flattering

I just had one in Jersey write me a few minutes ago and I know for fact he didnt read my profile entirely or he would've read Im seeing anotehr member. This dud left me his phone number, yeah like Im gonna call long distance to speak to a stranger. What a complete turnoff to get a first email of one line with a phone number.  All it said was yes Im ready and the phone number nad his name. WTF?

I agree with you ker. I read the profile first and if I don't match what they are looking for I just ignore it and don't respond back.

I skim the basics first. If that's okay, then I'll read all the rest. I would read a woman's entire profile before a first contact, and maybe even look her up on another system. I have seen a profile or two filled out a bit differently elsewhere.

I always read the profile seems kind of foolish not to. I spend 90% of my life outdoors if someone isnt an outdoors person what would we have in common. Plus I'm not out to change someone just date them.

I am fairly sure that the people who write me or send winks have not read my profile. It is a bunch of drivel followed by 'just looking for a friend'. Why would someone expect an intimate encounter from that? I consider it a preliminary IQ test.
Perhaps I should drone on about having psychoses and medication intolerance, or the like. Hey, worked for my roommate

I read the profile from top to bottom. The photo gets my attention and if I like what I see and read, I'll write. Sometimes, I'll write just to say "nice profile," not expecting a response.

I don't think I've ever NOT at the very least skimmed a profile before winking or mailing someone. There are just too many fake profiles and flat out psychos around to not at least pay a little attention to what someone writes.
