I havent spoken to this girl in about 1 month now. I found out her number and wanted to call her to see what up.
I just need a good exuse of how I got her number since she didnt give it to me. Dont worry I didnt get it using any illegal methods.

If you are very attractive, there is a chance that she might not mind that you did most likely do something illegal to get her number. Is your hair really cut in a bob ? Hmm all that comes to mind is Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Okay don't call us we'll call you.

A good excuse?? Starting the relationship off with a lie is NOT a good indicator of how it will turn out!  If she did not give you her number then you DID get it illegaly

If you didn't do anything "illegal" to get her number (i.e., asked around from mutual acquaintances to find out her last name/number and they gave it to you), she will either be flattered you went to the trouble to try to get in touch with her, or upset with the mutual acquaintance who gave out her number. But the last thing you need to do is come up with a "story" about how you got her number.

Email her a link to this thread.... 
You don't have to tell her WHO gave it to you, just tell her that you impressed enough with her that you wanted to talk to her, and so you ________ (fill in the blank, so long as it's the truth) to get her number.
Or...if your afraid to do that, like I said, email her a link to this thread....ask her to call YOU after she's read it!
