Ok so I had nothing better to do so I decided to pull the most recent search statics to see how the option looked for the men and women
The age range for all was 31-41 distance 35 miles.
Type of relationship like online chat, marriage was broken down one to one comparison
everything else was any or whatever works pictures and no pictures
I think for my area we can mostly rule out the fake ads since they usually come from bigger cities.
The numbers are in pages each page contains 24 profiles
display Results
complete overall all open options total numbers
15 pages of men to 7 pages of women
casual dating
11 pages men to 4 pages of women
Friendship
10 pages of men to 5 pages of women
longterm
11 pages of men to 5 pages of women
online chat
7 pages of men to 3 pages of women
marriage
7 pages of men to 3 pages of women
whatever works
10 pages of men to 4 pages of women
intimate
9 pages of men to 2 pages of women
as we can see the choice for men are very limit and very generous for women and according the numbers a woman can choice whatever she likes and get it since you will get at least 7 page in whatever criteria selected.
The very best a man would get in shifting numbers is 7 men to 5 women
I think these numbers are very relevant and telling
examples
we have total of 15 pages of men 9 page are looking for intimate so that means that 6 pages are looking for something more meaningful
and 7 pages of women with 2 looking for intimate that leaves 4 pages of women looking for something more meaningful
the number are then
6 pages of men looking for something other the intimate to 4 pages of women looking for the same
HOWEVER a woman if far more likely to run into a guy who is just about the hook up then a man is woman.
In fact theres a 60% chance that the emal you received is from a guy looking for just a hook up
Where for the men its only a 29% chance
adjusting for integrity still give women the options edge
6 pages of men to 5 pages of woman
I'm curious if there are any cities in the continental US where putting in the same criteria results in a 1 to 1 match.

Dude, I think you think too much. 
And don't think that scammers don't make profiles and say there from small towns. I get them all the time.....some from small towns near where I grew up. When I call them on it, they usually quickly move to Dallas.

thinking too much is something a completely seperate issue
The number are very relevant and do reveal pertaintant information whether you are male or female wheither you looking for casual, longterm or whatever..
if you dont care how many or who you meet or what they are looking for then TRUE number are irrelavant and pointless
or maybe it's easier to dismiss or not call to attention the numbers if they are in your favor ?
the number however are so solid that it would take one HECK of delusion to adjust the results

To me the number are more a point of interest..
Its been a while since i used a dating site for the purpose of meeting someone
and I also know in one of the few case where I can safely say never in double cant say combo.. ( which is kinda funny to me ) is
They say you will find someone when you are not looking..
Well I am not looking. ( my ad is posted pretty much as average)
but
I know I will never meet someone through this site even when adding this and all other posts or any combination from here forward.
I dont even pretend a hopefull never say never you never know in this case jinx
BUT its all good and I am in peace with it

and the only purpose I come here is to meet someone, hopefully, but it looks like hope left town with slim and none.

wiccked in my area the options are still in your favor
i used a 53-63 age range I figure in some cases you would be open to as young as 53 and as old as 63
6 pages of men to 4 women.
HOWEVER in your area it is by ONE woman harder for you
2 to 2 pages with one more woman on the last page.
I almost got excited for my age range 31-41 but was disaponted with the
7 to 3 page ratio oh well
