A girlfriend and I a few days ago decided to run all of the guys that we had been chatting with on Yahoo messanger through Watch Dog. Watch Dog is a national sex offender registry shows where the person lives and a picture of them. And are totally people that you don't want to be talking to online. Well anyway one person that was on my list I shockingly found on there. Was a huge eye opener and wake up call to be more careful when online dating. Share somethin that you do to stay safe while online dating.

I can't imagine why no-one has commented on this thread. It's a fantastic resource that helps you stay safe whilst dating people you meet online, and I recommend everyone uses it. It only takes a minute to check someone, and can either make you run a mile or give you a little peace of mind (although of course they may have just never been caught).

I would love to see a site where a criminal and martial statis background checks were manditory and MUST be cleared before an account was activated. for everyone MEN and WOMEN.
Along with that option if you post that you make $100k a year or that you have a Masters it will be verified.
You will know that if you see my ad. if nothing else I really am single and I am do not have criminal history.
If I say that I make $60k a yr and have and associates it's a fact

I would also like to see site post a truth in numbers in other words.
I want to know what my chances are up front. I hate the insanely high men to women ratio.
I have said this before date sites are fools for not charging at least $50 a month for all men providing free service for woman.. now the background would be the exception
The initial price should be the same.

That would narrow down the playing field considerably. $600 a year is best spent elsewhere rather than on a dating site.

No it would help balance the playing field. like I said FREE for Woman and $50 for men.. Basically. miost sites are $25 a month on a month to month contract. the $50 would cover the losses a site would have occured on the women..
Just like in some clubs were you have ladies night or when ladies are half price.or free
It is right and it is fair.
But also like a I said in this fictious unlikely scenerio. if we were to add some sort of background check then it should be paid by the individual whether man or woman..
heck to dont make it manditory. if safety is on of the major concerns for woman I love to be able to certify that I have pass all background checks as registered through obviously through some sort of name assiged to credit card or other tracable payment method.
it is not a 100% guarantee but it ads a lot of assurances..
it the background check is paid for it has tracking..If he or she is so clever as to create some fake identity that passes all check then he or she would be passing by most other means. and if its a male then you have a con artist that is paying $50 to pull his scam..

The fact is that this everything has risks, online and offline. Pay attention and be aware but lets not go overboard
I would never pay $50 per month to be on a dating site. I probably would not pay $5 unless I was assured that there were women that were mutually compatable.
As for background checks, they would also need to include each person coming in and proving they are who they say they are and look how they present themselves in pictures. I have a few horror stories.

That's really creepy I never really stopped and thought about it I mean I guess I have but then again I've only met two women off of the internet (both were normal lol) but I usually ask for a pic or two to make sure everything matches and I find out what kind of home life they might have if they live alone,with family etc I mean there's not much a guy can do besides make sure he's not talking to another guy lol
