Love is great a feeling of give and take it is understanding and fealing ones heart
Love is knowing what the other is going to say before they even say it.
Love is being there even when it seem's the hardest of time , but you would not have missed that moment for anyone or anything in this world.
love is caring about the homeless on the street woop's you just passed it by.
Love is about caring for your neighbor Love, no matter how you Love who you Love , will it matter in the end ?
The answer is yes , Love true love , can and will last forever as I sit here live and breath , love is real , powerful and at times maybe even overwhelming , but in my life I have truely had the honor of knowing this feeling , never give up , for it is so beautiful and wonderful . True love exists ...thinking to you all

Love1= affectionate concern for a person's well-being and happiness.
Love 2= Love1 + sexual attraction
Love 3= Love1 + parental instinct/duty
Love 4= Love1 + gratitude/duty
Love 5= Love1 + admiration/appreciation/respect
LOVE = Love1 + Love2 + Love5

LOVE VS. LUST
Infatuation can be fun...for a while. But it wears off quickly, especially when reality doesn't cooperate with the fairy tale imagery. Meanwhile, physical attraction, while important, is based on appearance and pheromones, which last just about long enough to satisfy the biological urge to procreate. It's fun, and it's intense, but it's fleeting. I suspect this accounts in part for the alarming divorce rate...that and the fact that people seem to have more of a tendency to cut and run at the first sign of difficulty.
Love, on the other hand, is much more mature and abiding. It's not hysterical, possessive, dramatic...but it stays. It's not so much a "feeling" as it is a state of consciousness. Being aware of each other's needs, accommodating when possible, and understanding when not. I think it has more to do with a deeper understanding between two individuals. And I believe it's more spiritual than biological. Infatuated couples CAN'T let go for any reason or length of time. Couples who truly love, can...because both know they're never truly apart.
With infatuation, it's longing, desire, and impatience.
With love, it's trust, understanding and peace. Give and Take.
Thats just my take on it...lol

I agree. The infatuation stuff wears off quickly. Then it is just what is left that counts. Do you still want their voice to be the last one you hear? Are you longing just to cuddle when you are both tired? Just "be". That is where the next level steps in.

I think that a kids honesty about what love is untainted and genuine.
I liked this and thought I would share.
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
- Rebecca - age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
- Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
- Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
- Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
- Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
- Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"
- Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
- Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate."
- Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikkas on this planet)
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
- Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
- Tommy - age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.
He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
- Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody.
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
- Clare - age 6
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
- Elaine-age 5
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
- Chris - age 7
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
- Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
- Lauren - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)
- Karen - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
- Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
- Jessica - age 8 I especially liked Bobbys' definition!

Love is...
When you both can sit there laughing at each others farts.
Love is...
When you rip tiny holes in the bum of his undershort's so he thinks his farts are that powerful.
Love is...
When you don't care what anyone else say's...You still love him. Even if he's annoying, perverted, has a sicker sense of humour than you and a horrible accent that you can barely understand at times...
Love is...
Letting him think he is right sometimes...Even though he's wrong.
Love is...
something I had to edit cause it didn't come out the way I wanted it to.

For Love distance doesn't matter. Whilst lust requires physical availability. Lust is selfish - it's about one's desires , while love is about making the other person happy . Lust is possessive , while love is caring. Lust is temporary condition , while love lasts forever , even after death a person is still loved. Love is attractive quality, loving people are magnet , people seek their company. Lust acts rather embarrassing , people are likely to stay away .

even after death a person is still loved. ...no truer words were ever spoken NL ...and sometimes, that one love is enough for an entire lifetime. It can never truly be repeated.Even in the darkest times, those memories can make a smile cross our lips and we know that all is well.

Ahhhh, the 1990's and dance clubs
RavinLunatic, I like the Saturday Night Live (SNL) versions.
That trio is hilarious. They resemble some of the guys actually here on MD looking for love.
