And how active are you on them?
In one of the other threads, I mentioned that I "belong" to several other "dating" sites. Someone said "I have made a lot of friends, and couldn't focus on really getting to know someone if I was several other places." I decided to respond to that and say," I don't see that it makes any difference how many dating sites I belong to, if I'm not talking to anybody on any of them."
It was in October 2007, that I blogged on one of the more popular social networking sites I belong to: "Well, I finally quit paying for subscriptions to lame dating sites. Now I only have free memberships to lame dating sites. This cuts down greatly on the amount of e-mail I get from ladies in Russia and China." My top 3 "friends" on that "space" are my son, my daughter-in-law and my granddaughter. A lady I used to work with (married), two of my son's friends, 5 people I met here on MD, a lady I went out with twice 3 years ago, a friend from the old MSN chat rooms, an artist friend who lives not too far away and two musical artists/groups round out my top dozen friends.
I still have profiles up on a couple of the "better known" 'personals' sites (though I'm an eHarmony reject!), but I can't interact with anyone there. The most I can do is get winked at and wink back, unless the profile impresses me so much that I decide to pony up the $25 or $30 dollars minimum for a month's subscription before I can e-mail them. And then they can only respond if they're a paying member!
So, basically, I belong to MD, that other famous 'fishing' site, and one that is "OK." Not being one to just e-mail everyone within 100 miles, but only those I actually think I might be interested in and would be close enough to actually meet without planning a vacation around the trip, I probably attempt to initiate contact about 4 or 5 times per year. Generally, on joining a site ("Ohh, look! New Meat!") I get three or four e-mails the first few weeks (not counting scammers), and then perhaps 3 times a year, or so, am contacted, usually by someone that I just don't find myself interested in.
So, how many sites do YOU belong to, and what kind of action are you getting?

As I also said in that other thread, I'm on 2 dating sites, both free. And one social networking site. I spend more time at MD than the other dating site. And try to go to my social site once a night so I can feed my "hatchlings" so they don't run away! LOL

Interesting.
I'm on the same 3 "dating" sites as Nightowl, only I just registered on one of them in the past week or so & just had the lame date I blogged about from the other.
I'm also on the same social networking site as signme.
Frankly, MD has evolved into more of social networking site for me and I think that is okay. I mean, the mantra is "for singles & friends." And honestly, I've been here so darn long now, if anybody wanted to date me, I'd have already heard from them, right? 
Of course, there are men here who I COULD be interested in, but I've just gotten to the place that I rarely pursue anyone anymore....I've gotten tired of getting shot down.

I think I'm only on here and the fish now. I removed my profile from all the others I could remember since I never pay and it's silly to wink around.
A few years ago I spent a whole day posting my profile on every site I could find....it was a wild week of answering new men...kinda fun actually. That was back when AS had more free access ~ spent loads of time there. I did get comments from men asking how many sites I was on so they must have seen me other places ~ and it was in a disapproving tone ~ so it may be a turnoff to be posted in several to some people. Anything to increase the odds is ok with me, though. It's a numbers game.

Oh I'm not ashamed, but the Mod warned us about "advertising" other sites we are on as some of the other places contain more personal info than MD.
MD is the only "dating" site I'm on. I've tried the others and only MD is "home".

Mom....no one is advertising or asking that anyone else advertise. I was really just trying to kid y'all around since you acting all shy.
And now I feel compelled to add, though it should be quite evident....after all the places my name can be found around this site, I feel like it's "home," too.
