Dating a coworker

Has anyone here ever dated a coworker? I never have because I tend to keep my private life and professional life pretty separate.

If you did, how did it work out (no pun intended )?

And, if things didn't work out, how did you handle things after the "break up" or decision to say "I think we're just better off as coworkers"

I dated a coworker. She left her husband, we moved north to where her family was and it was the most intensly awesome and painfull experience of my life.

I dated a co-worker for 3 years, it was kinda nice actually staying in touch during the day, very busy workplace so not alot of time for socializing. It got a little awkward for us when the split came, but we kept our issues to ourselves and worked through it. We are still good friends.

Well, if it weren't for dating coworkers, life would have been really, really dull for this workaholic. Fortunately there's never been a company policy against it, and it's extremely common (you really have to be careful what you say and to whom, so many people are married to each other). It was true 35 years ago, and it's still true. The only rule now is that spouses can't be in the same reporting line. I'll be attending a wedding shortly of two of my coworkers...

Too bad all the interesting ones these days are already married...sigh....
