Raks, if we know who we are at our core, which is beauty and wholeness (and we all are beauty and wholeness at our center) the truth can only sting for a moment (in the mind). Even though a felt sense of rejection is not an easy thing for anyone, if we remember who we are, at core, then we know that someone else's expression of their "truth" about us is only their thought about it.
Their thought is not necessarily a true reflection of us. It is simply their thought.

Since I haven't been feeling well as you know Pete, I'd ask for a little kiss too but then you'd be sick and Waiting would be mad at me 
So I know you'll tell me, "I'm not interested Angel" but that's ok, I'll know you're not being mean

I don't mind if a woman tells me she's not interested. What really pisses me off though is if plans are made and they don't show up. That has happened to me a couple of times. From then on, I try not to ask about meeting up or anything like that anymore unless I really connect with them or I can be reassured I won't get stood up. That's why I don't often send messages to women far away cause if I get stood up at least I won't have to drive far to get back home.

Been there,done that.I dated this idiot briefly that would agree to a date and then just vanish,changing plans without notice.People that do that have issues.Don't do issues.

Its only mean in how one says it. If not interested, send a nice short email. I'm not interested due to compatibility, etc. but leave with a bow that the person is not rejected by the world, there is some one out there for you and wish them the best on their journey.

In Situations where one is truly "not interested" simply type, "Thanks But No Thanks." It requires only a second, in the event they don't understand then blow em off. 
In person or on the phone, honesty is the best policy. Most of us are very busy, why waste you're time or the time of others.

I am NOT ever going to answer mail on MD from complete strangers that I am not interested in friendships with. I think I may answer one in 300 letters with a short polite response and I think out of the last 500 winks or so I have winked back at one person and it was today. I am very choosy about my friends.

Not that I don't have the time or that I'm too good to ansswer... I just don't wanna.
Don't have to.
There's no rule here that says we HAVE to answer every little email &/or wink. In the past I thought it was the polite thing to do but too many times my polite, "Thanks, but no thanks" was answered with pleading, bargaining, sales jobs, or arguments.
I HAVE answered and returned winks...but it is a rare occurance.
It's the 'net, fer cripe's sake!
