Have you ever gone out with someone that just dumps half a bottle of aftershave, or perfume on themselves....? I had company the other night, and although he was only here for a few hours..my house, and my clothing smelled like him for ....well, I took off my blouse and tossed it in the washer when he left. I'm amazed that over a hug and kiss...all that smell got transferred !!! 
What is wrong with the smell of a clean body ?

Yep...I hear you on this issue. Alas, my late husband used a lot of overpowering aftershave/cologne. I was prone to migraines and this stuff really got me. It took years to get him to understand what this stuff did to me. hehe...aah, now, I have a little fellow that I work with, that splashes this stuff on before he comes into the office, and I almost  every time he comes in. I haven't figured out how to nicely tell him he's somewhat "overpowering" LOL...

I'm with you, Tinker, I love it. In moderation, as you said, of course.
But then I like the smell of clean skin on a man, as well. And the smell of the outdoors. And how they smell when they are grilling, and the smell...
Um, I think it would be quicker to list smells on a man I don't like.

AAAAHHHH The smell of Testostorone and sweat!... 
This is funny b/c the other day in the market i passed a guy who was wearing a cologne that smelled sooooooo gooooood.
I walked past 2ce to be sure it was him, then actually went up to him and told him i loved the smell and ask what was the name of it....
(I shoulda wrote it down...paul bunyon or something????)
I never went up to a strange man b4 to say this and it ws quite funny...Man I am getting Ballsy in my advancing yrs.

I used to wear aftershave and cologne--about 20 years ago!
If I'm "cleaned up," the only thing you smell is Safeguard, Arrid Xtra Dry, and Edge Gel.

I cant stand it when I smell a man coming! GaH. You know tho its hard to find a good mans cologne that isnt strong. Wonder why that is? Fierce is a good man's cologne but its still a strong one.. Tip guys. spray it in front of you and walk threw it! Or get a body wash of a cologne you like. Axe makes some good stuff. I like 'Touch'. Get the body wash and deo. Then you just have a subtle scent, not overpowering! The Fierce is awesome tho guys, get it all cologne lotion body wash, Just with the cologne, spray once! and walk threw! LoL UmMm YuMmM. You can get it at Abercrombie.

I don't wear aftershave - I shave right before I shower. I've got a couple of bottles of some knock-offs from the 99c store and a bottle of Halstead Zsomething (can't remember) only because it drove a particular girl crazy - 20 years ago. I don't like men or women who overdo it.

i use rubbing alcohol as aftershave. after a minute or two there is not lingering aroma. it is quite effective too.

Pete, it's all a matter of personal preference, but I shave in the shower. The hot water makes the skin easier to stretch and I get a closer shave. It also allows the Edge Gel to get spread around my neck and chest area, contributing to the good-smelling man effect.
My friend in Atlanta (who I'm seeing tonight) says I'm the best smelling man she's ever been with.
