I wouldnt myself expect anything to be brought as a gift.....but if you have it in your mind to do so, I would say something small.....a small candle, single flower doesnt have to be a rose.........
maybe a simple card..........maybe just a coffee, or tea if they dont drink coffee........oh maybe a hersheys kiss (single one) smiling.........chocolate is always good.........

Flowers, chocolate, along those lines.
Do NOT buy anything expensive as that sets you up for a number of problems later on.
Besides, it's the thought that counts, not the $$$...

I think the old-fashioned approach is best. Show up with flowers. You canNOT go wrong with flowers. I promise you that she will be impressed. I believe it's yellow roses that signify the promise of new beginnings... try that... and GOOD LUCK!!!!

Oh yeah, also wanted to mention the meaning for a single red rose... "I love you"... probably don't want to go that route. Take a look at this website and you'll know the meaning for the different colors of roses. It's not bad information to have... especially if your girl is privy to it.

Again, GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'd just go with a simple card or something.Nothing to much save it for the 2nd date! It would suck to spend money on someone if you didnt have a connection because chances are if they didnt like you either the flowers would go in the trash

a few years ago.. ohh ok.. a bunch of years ago.. one of my former patients asked me out. When he got to my house he had 3 yellow roses and a small pewter picture frame in the shape of a cat.Considering that he was delerious from fever for most of the 2 weeks he was my patient, I was suitably impressed that he remembered that I was a cat lover.

As the other posters said, bringing a small gift would be nice....nothing too expensive. I would recommend trying to think of something special, though. Flowers or chocolate are usually great, but if you can think of something she would like that relates to her personal interests, that would be better. Someone on here posted a blog that her date brought her a nice gift related to something she had told him she liked. It was much nicer for her than flowers, because she knew he had taken the time to think of something special for her.

A gift? Well, a new car would be nice. If you don't want to do that, then just bring yourself, I'm a cheap date.

so true Dooney.. I'm not a big chocolate lover.. and flowers are ok.. but they don't last.. but that little picture frame is on my bedside table and has been for 15 years now. It's one of my special keepsakes. When I see it, I remember what a wonderful night we had .. dinner and dancing..with a really special fella.
