Can miles truly separate you from friends...? If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?

Distant Love
by Dale Whipple
Did you ever say I love you
And the breeze took your words away
Did you feel them as they lingered
Then slowly drifted on their way
Did they journey long, searching for
The distant love you hoped they’d find
Was someone out there listening
For words from heart and mind
Did you ever hear I love you
As the wind blew through the trees
Closed your eyes and felt them there
As they came quietly in the breeze
Did you ever say I love you
And hear it whispered in return
Feeling your distant love beside you
And the desire within you burn
Did you ever see I love you
Floating quietly to you with ease
Wandering peacefully there beside you
Comes I love you in the breeze

"Though miles may lie between us, we're never far apart, for friendship doesn't count the miles, it's measured by the heart."

That Jonathan Livingston Seagull was quite the wordsmith. To answer the question...I don't think distance (or any obstacle) will ever stand up against two people in love...distance will never be able to keep two lovers apart. No hindrance precludes love.

Distance shouldn`t be a factor..very well put by the way.

Look at the woman who started this thread. Is she not wonderfully attractive...and, based on her other threads, also wonderfully intelligent. There's not any amount of miles that a man wouldn't travel just to be in the glow of her smile. My humble opinion.

I do believe that there truly is no time or space, only the "eternal moment", and that there is only One Soul from which we all originate. We are all connected in one beautiful and everlasting way (despite our experience of separation) and this connection exists by Love and through Love, the only thing that truly exists, despite our perceptions and experiences that this may not be so.
Having said that, I would say miles cannot separate because we are already one. In a world where we do experience what appears to be time and space (separation), it only takes a moment of awareness within the mind, heart and Soul to experience and know what we already are....One with all.

distance should never be a problem....but it is always easier to say that then actually break through that obstacle....Who here is brave? Let him or her take that step...

Miles never separated me from my loved ones. They are in my heart. In my soul, my mind always.

This is a little poem I wrote for a woman I had never met. At my darkest hour she was my emotional backbone, was there when I needed someone the most.
I'm just below the water,
drawing my last breath.
There's a world where I will see you
as tears swim down your cheeks.
Your voice sounds like it always did,
a soft and stormy sound;
it lifts me when I'm down.
I know you're still there,
raining in my heart.

Friendship and love, there shouldn't be anything physical thing that can keep or stop two people from caring about each other.

How about age?----seems to be a requirement on just about everyones profile. That one tends to keep alot of people apart.

Well... there is 'keeping in touch'... and then there is 'touch'.
Touch is better.
