The discussion was exclusively and solely about semantics, the difference in meanings of two words.
Semantics wasn't the thread. The thread was about dating those without children. Thats when you chimed in off topic. By the way, Call me what you like. The reality is I am defined by my actions deeds and accomplishments which are many. For which most involve and are shaped around children. <----(on topic) I dont suffer from an identity crisis nor do I lack the ability to disinfranchise myself from all that is less than productive. So phrases dont bother me. It's the content and context that send me in the other direction. public divisiveness seems to be the thing for some just not my thing. One more thing, If it's offensive turn it off.
I hope that wasn't considered unhinged.

I know I am going to get flack for this from every direction, but I am only the messenger here, reporting my personal observations. It seems that the women I have known and dated in my age group (40's and 50's) who have never had children, have invariably been weird in some way or other. I am NOT saying that all childless women are odd or weird, just the ones I have known personally.

I'm childfree by pure luck. 
I don't have that many "productive" years left (without having a child with an extra eye or an arm where a leg should be) and I'm mostly okay with that. If I can't have a child within a stable and loving marriage, then I don't want any and I honestly don't think I would ever regret sticking to my beliefs.

Im now too old to have kids of my own. I guess if I married someone with kids and grands, that would be ok. But I work with kids 9 months of the year, so I put my time in!

Unfortunately, pal, there's quite a few weirdos out there who apparently consider the other people's fertility to be public concern.To the degree of actually murdering people who either don't have desire to procreate or who provide medical help for those who prefer to live child-free. Those are pro-natalists (a.k.a militant anti-abortionists) - i.e those who are attempting to bully people into producing unwanted , unloved children .
Apparently , in their "minds" the more miserable children are brought to this world the better.
I love my son to death, but I wish I was here ten years before when my alcoholic neighbor didn't have family yet. I would have been willing to pay for vasectomy for him if I knew what kind of "life" is awaiting his kids.

If you choose to not have children, or if it's by the situation I am all for it! I think everyone has that right to choose...
I myself having 3 children would not want to date someone who dosen't have children only on the basis that they might not be able to understand that my children always come first....(that is why I'm with someone who gets that )
Everyone needs to decide what is right for them....and the children, or lack of children...all personal choice! Nobody right, nobody wrong

Myself..no kids. But I have dated women with children, And in most cases the kids were better then their moms. 
Now being 40 next month..I dont think I want any..I dont want to be that old dude at graduation..kids thinking Im the grandpa

Wanted kids but never had them.
I guess that phermone stuff in a bottle that they sell at Macy's is just a swindle (It doesn't get women hot, horny, fertile and in heat). Yup, that's the reason. I should have bought snake oil.
