Do you really get over a bad break up

My last relationship ended about 3 years ago and during the process of the breakup a 25 year friendship was destroyed.
Do you really get over it or is it something you just bury and move on?

aren't these the same thing? Are you asking if you can rebuild the friendship? need more info -like, are you talking about the same person?

The rule of thumb that I've heard is that it takes 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the relationship to recover from the breakup.I suspect the 1/3 refers to longer relationships, and 1/2 for the shorter ones.

You get over it..My last break-up was last November 12th on the day we were supposed to be married..
Takes a while but you`ll get over it...I take it as a lesson learned then move on.. Nothing you can do about itonce its over.

FeliciVagano. The friendship will never be rebuild. There are just somethings in my point of view that cant be forgiven.

Since the friendship can't be rebuilt, then....
I don't know about "bury and move on," I think it is more "learn from and move on." In that way, you will eventually "get over it," though the experience will always remain a part of you.
