The first time can be confusing, to be sure, because the certainty, the sureness, the reciprocity is so unexpected. But once you have experienced complete and unconditional Love with another, it can never be mistaken for anything else and when you later come across something that is anything less, you will more clearly recognize the difference.

Falling in love feels like I am quietly resting within the heart and Soul of the one I am with. It is a feeling of joy and peace. There is no awkwardness in moments of silence. This comfort with silence mirrors the Truth of Love's effortless movement and expression within me and within the man who stands before me.

My awareness that Love is always with me is heightened. Love is with me as it is with him. We are in fact abiding in the midst of Love itself, together, as one, as it is, and we know that Love is all there truly is, and knowing this is more than enough.

Falling in love carries with it the experience of knowing that all is right with the world, despite outward appearances. It is being in total communion with the other such that with each breath I take, my Soul contemplates the beauty of his, and I can feel the beauty of this contemplation even when I sleep.

Falling in love is being reminded that love is ever Present, that love is perfectly made known to all who are open, and eventually opens all who are closed.

The completeness of Love quietly yet strongly says yes!!! to all that is its direct reflection.

Feeling that you found the thresh-hold of life

To adore and In return adorned

Knowing comfort as being comforted

Giving the whole heart in exchange of receiving another

Never to be alone for the other is not alone when with you

A precious gift of oneself returns as preciously given

Sharing all bountiful entwines no limits left behind

Then you know you fell because love rescued

It pretty much feels like you have gone insane...then one good rap on the head from reality, and you're ok again.

Falling in love is like addiction. You want more and more of it everyday. Then you realized you have gotten FAT!

I posted this one in the Antoine thread... but it fits here too:

"Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction. "

Man!! You guys!
I don't believe I've ever had this experience you speak of. I've kinda "wanted" to "fall-in-love" since I was a little kid picturing myself as a grown-up.
I've heard things like "It'll curl your toes" and other ridiculous, fanciful Hollywood expressions.
But sadly, my toes have never curled or even behaved strangely.
While I can't honestly say I've given-up altogether, I am getting a little too comfortable with getting-my-own-way almost all the time.
And now I read so many of you speaking of being in-love using such wonderful descriptions.
I think I probably feel a little like a beggar at a convention of chefs.

It feels like success,it prevails over anything else in your mind or your heart.
If your fortunate to fall into unconditional love, that love will never pass, regardless if it is only yourself that has it for the other.

Everyone has such great thoughts here, I cannot be as eloquent in statement! But, when I see married people together the ones in their 70s, 80's, 90's, I think knowing that you would enjoy, appreciate and love growing old with one another, and look forwarding to living because of, for and with that person, it would be a great feeling.

It feels like a roller coaster ride or a good night's sleep. It's also like a warm furry kitten. It feels like a sunny spring day and like a cool autumn evening just before sunset.

It feels like a lot of things to a lot of people and the same to just as many more.

there is a biological c***tail of chemicals that is triggered when meeting some one. These chemicals are trigered by smell. A woman instictively knows by smell what genes would be compatible with hers in producing offspring that will best survive. I believe this happens no matter who you meet or whether or not you already with some one. Its a biological "human" thing.

Basically some one falls in lust, then grows in love. Being in lust triggers opiates in our brains that cause euphoria. As quoted:

"Lust, of course, involves a craving for sex. Jim Pfaus, a psychologist at Concordia University, in Montreal, says the aftermath of lustful sex is similar to the state induced by taking opiates. A heady mix of chemical changes occurs, including increases in the levels of serotonin, oxytocin, vasopressin and endogenous opioids (the body's natural equivalent of heroin). “This may serve many functions, to relax the body, induce pleasure and satiety, and perhaps induce bonding to the very features that one has just experienced all this with”, says Dr Pfaus."

this is the reason why the need to cuddle is there. Continueing;

"Then there is attraction, or the state of being in love (what is sometimes known as romantic or obsessive love). This is a refinement of mere lust that allows people to home in on a particular mate. This state is characterised by feelings of exhilaration, and intrusive, obsessive thoughts about the object of one's affection. Some researchers suggest this mental state might share neurochemical characteristics with the manic phase of manic depression. Dr Fisher's work, however, suggests that the actual behavioural patterns of those in love — such as attempting to evoke reciprocal responses in one's loved one — resemble obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)."

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to bottle the right c***tail and take the love potions?
