Virtue is moral excellence of a man or a woman. A virtue is a character trait valued as being good.It is something practiced at all times. The virtue of perseverance is needed for all and any virtue since it is a habit of character and must be used continuously in order for any person to maintain oneself in virtue.
So what do you believe is the greatest virtue? What is yours? And what virtue or virtues would you look for in a partner?

To me Virtue means teaching by example. Giving life to words, by being a living teacher. And no you don`t have to have an education to be a teacher...your education is what you`ve learned through lifes experiences..Forgiveness for those who don`t understand... Showing that every life is of value, and that everyone deserves to benefit from each others gifts. Love and compassion for those less fortunate then me.. With these virtues, there would be no intentional harm done to anyone in any area of life. What a GREAT world this would be if we all had these virtues. Those to me, are the greatest virtues of all..
Virutues I look for in a man: Honesty,Loyalty,Respect,friendliness ,humor,imagination
fairness, commitment, being beautful in spirit (not Looks) ,unselfishness, sympathy, sincerity, happiness and
self-respect..I may not find them all.But some is better then none.

Boy, tough one, Tink.
I think perhaps that Compassion is the greatest virtue because it contains the greatest element of true understanding of another and is the driving force behind making the world a better place. I strive to be compassionate my Self and do look for it in those I allow close to me. The virtue that I look for in parallel to compassion is honesty.
Merriam-Webster online defines Compassion as "sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it".
Further definitions include:
- a deep awareness of and sympathy for another's suffering
- the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something about it
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
- Compassion is a sense of shared suffering, most often combined with a desire to alleviate or reduce such suffering.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compassion
- transcends both natural human sympathy and normal Christian concern, enabling one to sense in others a wide range of emotions and then provide a supportive ministry of caring and intercessory prayer. Also called the gift of Mercy.
www.acts17-11.com/dictionary_gifts.html
- The wish to free others from their suffering.
www.whitneystewart.com/HHDL/Glossary.htm
- (Skt. karuna / Tib. nyingje): The unconditional wish that all sentient beings be freed from physical and mental suffering.
www.bodhipath-west.org/glossary.htm
- [from Latin com with + pati to bear, suffer] Sympathetic understanding; the feeling of one's unity with all that is, resulting in an "intimate magnetic sympathy with all that is." (OG)
www.theosociety.org/pasadena/etgloss/ci-cz.htm
- a Primary Law and prime virtue, is when a person is moved by the suffering or distress of another, and by the desire to relieve it. Compassion is empathy, not sympathy – identification with and understanding of another’s situation, feelings, and motives. Compassion is the highest vibration of the elastic relative Law of Tolerance, under the Principle of Equilibrium. "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy" is the Law of Compassion.
miriams-well.org/Glossary/
- The desire to help when a need is discovered.
