Ok, I realize there's a stigma for older women to date younger men, but for some reason, I connect with older women better than I do with women my own age. I also find that older women are more approachable, which is a major plus.

I've worked with mostly women for the better part of 7 years now, and I've always been the "office heart-throb," but I believe that you should never sh*t where you eat, so I never persued anything when I know I could have. It would have been easy in that situation because those women already knew me, however, in bars, it's different; I don't stand a chance based on my age alone.

So my question: Is there anything I could say or do that would help to eliminate that stigma? Any advice ladies?

Well, speaking as an older woman and I am very older. If a man your age were to approach me, my first instinct would be to burp him.

Using a bit of knowledgeable charactor as an interlectual approach. Lets say at a market. Your shopping for (food) and... .

You see oposite gender all alone, you say to yourself humm, you shyly watch, ok, now you decide to make a gentleman move. Pick up a product and say excuse me, but do you know why the FDA would let us eat this and I can't even pronounce the ingredient name? OMG! who knows right? Just a thought here...

Swag, just be yourself. You're not only funny and charming, you're considerably more insightful and interesting than most of the men I've encountered, regardless of age (or it wouldn't be so darned much fun flirting with you!).

Now, to get the opening in order to impress the lady...make sure the bar is dimly lit, so your youth won't be quite so apparent...maybe grow a beard, that usually makes men look older (semi-kidding). Don't mention ages, if it comes up, just tell her you're legal...I'll bet by the time you've shared a drink or two, and gotten into a conversation, you'll have her interested enough not to worry about your age...and as we grow older, I think we tend to worry a lot less about stigma than we do about what feels right to us anyway.

I have found that when a younger man approaches me, how he presents himself is what really catches my attention. If he carries himself with confidence and maturity, I will take him serious. If he's a bumbling idiot...that is what I see....a bumbling idiot. For me....it's all in the presentation. I once dated a man 15 yrs younger than myself....and he was more respectful and mature than the men in their 40's I had went out with. Age isn't a factor unless you make it one, it's just a number....if 2 people click, they click.

and then if she says she doesn't have a pool, you can say, "but you can have a boy"

Disclaimer: the above comment was in no way meant to say I think you are a boy...

Not only do you ladies crack me up, you also offer excellent advice... well, maybe not the pager thing, but that would be awesome to try! I'd probably get slapped though.

Oh, and I don't take offence to being called a boy, or being "burped"

Wet and Waiting…For You by:The Pool Boy [gag, choke]

Another thing not to do when meeting an older woman is to take out your calculator, then ask “Now just how old ARE you???”

All joking aside, Swag, just be yourself when approaching the woman. Strike up a conversation (does anything in a bar have unpronounceable ingredients written on it, Angel? LOL).

Some women have no problem with dating younger men, some do. You just have to find out which way the woman you’re interested in thinks. And you'll never know until you try...

Definitely don't say, "I prefer older women because women my age just don't get me, you know?"

The correct response to that is, "Sorry to have to tell you this, but older women don't get you either."

I've heard that line too, too many times!
