Why all the quick assumptions?

If i don't show how much I make.. they assume I am broke
If i dont show who I live with.. they assume I am still with my parents
If I don't show my body type.. they assume I am grossly overwieght
If I havn't had a date in 2 years.. they assume I am a psycho

As of late I have found women to make quick judgments about me and call things off before I even ask them out on a date. No one is willing to work at building a relationship, nor ask me questions to know the truth. They seem to allready know.. and you cannot prove them wrong.

What ever happened to trust and finding things out by asking instead of using some weird mix of logic and intuition?

People who make judgement calls about me without getting to know me are not the people I want to be involved with anyway. Don't sweat it, it's a good way of weeding out people you don't want to know before you invest any time in them.

I'll add to that...when I say I'm overweight, they assume I'm dumpy and a slob.

Don't know why it happens, and I agree...it stinks.

Especially online, it is SO hard to know the facts unless you start talking to somebody. You know what they say about people who ASSUME.....
Even if they assume incorrectly, YOU know the truth!

I am ashamed to admit that I am guilty as anybody else of this habit. For example, I take it for granted that all of the Russian and African women who contact me just want American citizenship and I automatically delete their messages. I am probably passing up numerous opportunities to make a good friend

On the other hand, I doubt that we could accomplish as much as we do without making some assumptions. Obviously not everybody who contacts us is sincere. It's equally obvious that the time we waste learning the truth could be spent more productively. (This is why I advocate the death penalty for swindlers. ) I guess we just have to bear in mind that we could be wrong.

But then again, if you're not answering any of the questions about yourself, what else are they to assume?

In my case that's a safe assumption. What's the point of assuming anything else? Most people are broke anyway.

The funny thing is that I really don't care that I'm broke, I just call it cash celibate.

Jehosaphat,

You've got make these things work to your advantage. I have fun with these things.

If i don't show how much I make.. they assume I am broke

Heck, I beat them to the punch on this one. I want to know how much they make so they'll be able to afford me and all my hobbies.

If i dont show who I live with.. they assume I am still with my parents

Just tell them you are homeless and poor because you've spent all your money paying for internet dating sites and taking women out trying to buy their approval.

If I don't show my body type.. they assume I am grossly overwieght

Well, it can be very sexy to be 4'-8" tall and weigh 250 lbs (go ahead and tell them you are 4'-11" just to make them think they are getting a taller sexier guy).

If I havn't had a date in 2 years.. they assume I am a psycho

Can't help you here, not an area I suffer in.

Attitude is everything.

But then again, if you're not answering any of the questions about yourself, what else are they to assume?

Instead of automatically assuming the worst, a person might just assume that everyone doesn't feel like sharing all of his/her information with the world at large?

Isn't that the diet where you sponge meals off relatives... the at-kin's diet?

Pete--go to your room!!!! Without supper!
