Hey Jester-Did you notice that the homemade cards and notes you get from your family get hermeticly sealed to the fridge and other cards are just thrown in a card drawer?

nothing compares to gifts from the heart....no question. i have the same fridge as jester...if you look real hard...it's there under a couple layers of school drawings somewhere. what could ever compare to the dandelion and wildflower bouquets picked on the way home from school just because???

The most precious gifts I have ever received came from the heart and was created by the giver's own hands OR something that they had to work really hard to find even though that rare and thoughtful treasure may have only cost a dollar.
Effort, love, and thoughtfulness is worth much, much more to me than gold and diamonds...

Such nice answers, makes me all mushy inside, kinda sad that my kids are grown, remembering all the "world's greatest mom" notes, the roses my son would stop and pick for me at a vacant house on his way home, the saucer my daughter stopped at a garage sale and spend her quarter allowance on for me.

I love it when a man brings me flowers on the first date or any date, but doesn't have to be a dozen anything, or even an expensive anything, just one flower, one rose, sooo nice and sweet.

I went on a wonderful first date a couple of weeks ago. He knew my favorite color was purple so he gave me a bouquet consisting only of purple flowers. It was BEAUTIFUL and sooooo thoughtful. Much better than traditional (and expensive) roses. I was so impressed, I'm still seeing him...

Can't an expensive gift come from the heart? It's not a bad thing.
I like practical gifts, myself.

Ones from the heart are the best.....saved all the cards and gifts my boys made, when they were older sent them to them.
One of the best gifts I received was my first homemade birthday cake from my ex- boyfriend....no one had ever done that for before, except my Mom. Oh yes, the flowers picked from the yard just to say I care.

Definately gifts from the heart. Knowing they took the time to make something special, or do something special "just for me" makes life worth living!
