I don't "think" I am a country girl-- I know I am. I have lived in the country all my life. Would not live in the city for the deed to it. I was raised on a farm with cows, horses, pigs, chickens, etc.. We did our own farming. I can veg & put up for the winter months. I make jelly and beef jerky. Yes, I ride a 4 wheeler, don't chew tobacco but I do drink beer. And YES--- catfish is better than crappie -- but I prefer stripe. I can skin a buck -- run a trotline --you know the rest. And yes I have caught several fish!

GOSH,DARN,DANG!!!! cant believe Iv missed all this FUNNNN!!! If ya'll dont stop Im gunna just die from laughing so hard I call myself a 'one percenter' only one percent of the population that claim to be country really are 'country' I could easly survive in a cave. The final test for being country would be surviving anything thats not country...HUNTER/GATHERERS UNITE!!! If you cant kill it/grow it, process it/preserv it, theres gunna be a time your gunna be hungry.......think about that!! And for those of you who asked...my deer kills number 12, You??? my biggest fish, 8.5pd black bass I caught a barndoor crappi weighed 2.3pd. Easy to say, I know, but its no bull...t

Speaking of deer I have a dog story for you all.
I was streched out on the sofa watching the Packer game,my wolf-pup (black German shepard) was in her usual position sound asleep next to the coffee table when all of a sudden she woke up,ran to the patio door with the hair up on her back and ready to kill.
I looked out and wondered who's lurkin around back here.
About 3 seconds later three doe ran by along the river around 100 ft away.
That dog had smelled those deer while sound asleep from inside the house before I could even see them .

Well.. I got to be honest about those deer kills... You know my dad and my uncle 'helped' me get my first two when I was 16, but I did make the kill. And when I lived in Mississippi I shot two doe, one was swimming acrossed a small lake running from dogs, I was fishing heard the dogs running in the hills and finaly saw her jump in the water....not completly legal but it WAS doe season, promise I took two in Davy Crockett nat. Forest, worst huntin trip of my life, real small bucks. The rest were killed on my land in Ms. just sittin on the back porch waitin for the dogs to run 'em through the bottoms. I new the circle they would make and every one knew if their dogs run a deer across my land I would shoot'em if I got a chance. A common understanding between neighbors. My favorite huntin trips were always with my rabbit dogs...oh how I miss my beagles... the stories I could tell!!! Above all others would be my retriever, the best gun dog ever walked. Water or land, He was unbeatable. Hes gone now but I will never forget him...Anyone out there with a great dog story they would like to share???

I've never killed a deer, and am embarrassed to admit that the biggest fish came out of a canal and was a carp.....
I was wondering if someone can tell me when nighcrawlers became so wiggly? I dug some up a while back, and those suckers were like baby snakes they were moving so fast.

I love dog stories.

Lol, Buni!!!! My mom loved to fish. The only bait she refused to put on her hook was a night crawler. She said they reminded her of baby snakes! She was of the thinking, the only good snake, was a dead snake!!!
Nothing wrong with catching carp either, my Grandmother lived near the river and had a turtle trap and a carp line too. The only time you saw her in pants was when she went to the river to to see what she caught. Carp, can taste good too. It depends how you clean them and cook them. Lol, My Grandma also loved the brains of squirrels! While she was frying up that ole' squirrel, she would rool that little thing in flour and fry it and pop it in her mouth!

6.5 lb bass? I need to get some of you guys out on the salt for some real fishing! We could head out to the flats and catch some reds or flounder or go out a ways and get some nice 8-10 lb red snapper, that's standard fare there, not a once in a lifetime catch!

Now if you're talking country gals... I've known a few who were as sweet as sun brewed ice tea in public, but in private...(insert big YEEHAW here )
