I think I just skip pick-up lines at the bars and just ask up-front a woman which I would like to get to know…Will You Marry Me ?  ....and see what happens next . 
Ladies you think this will work ???

Nope. Why would you ask a woman you don't know such a question?
"Will you marry me" in this case certainly sounds like a pick up line to me.

Ladies … it works !
I have tried this on many of your “sisters”….and it works like a charm.  Why ?... because every woman wants to be married and even when she knows I am just teasing …she can resist finding-out what’s behind the question.

Personally, I do not care what the line is, as long as I like the guy. LOL
Not sure what determines that - more his attitude and general appearance. Too much ego or too little and he is shot down 
Different strokes for different folks 
I also have to wonder what the women are like that are receptive to that particular line. I would probably roll my eyes and go on with what I was doing. I know when guys send me emails that are too simpy or sound like they want to get married without meeting me, I delete.
Not sure all that amounts to anything LOL

Well, I'd probably have some fun with it...start discussing the pre-nup, the will, etc. If that didn't scare you off, go to details like merging households, etc.You'd lose interest as your eyes started to glaze over listening to that nonsense...

Mike, try this one sometime. Walk up to a lady, the nicer dressed and classier looking the better, and say, "You know, you look just like the kind of woman I'd marry..." and then give her time to respond (or at least give you a funny look)... And your next line would be, "Yeah, that way I could divorce you a week later and take half your possessions."
Now this is one, if done right, works like a charm. Usually takes her right on out of her "persona" and breaks down any wall she may have up.

I found the question to be really strange to. I don't believe all women want to be married. I think most ladie's would laugh or question the sanity of man to use that as a pick up line. Those are strong word's that should never just be asked to someone as a joke. It's seem's like a mockery of marriage to use such a line.
