Really, guys, truthfully, if you were with a woman and knew she was willing to have sex with you, would you turn it down? If so, why? Have often have you turned it down, if you have ever?

Who she is
Do I desire her
Would it be a good idea
Does the relationship have a future...
Is she someone I trust/like/etc...
I have turned down offers of sex before. Why? Because in a couple of cases, it simply would not have been worth it. A couple of other times, because it was a "first date" situation... and in one case, my kids were home, and in another case, her kids were home... not a good idea....

Don't know what everyone else saw....what I was an honest question, wanting an honest answer.....sharing experiences....Guess it depends on whither a guy or gal asked it in the first place....as to who it was directed to for a response.
I've turned down sex.....lots of times....some are to young, some too old, some just don't interest me in that way, some are good married friends and I'm looking out for their best interest, most because I cant see us skinny dipping in the hot springs together......
Its called maturity and the difference between being a "dog" and an adult.......it's called maturity, using ones head brains, making a good judgement and valuing the act for more than instant gratification.

well we do occasionaly deserve it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,perhaps if we stopped humping girls legs,or going to strip joints,,,,,,,,,,,,but i don't think it's fair to lump us all together

Well Bev, it seems that a lot of men actually do turn down the offer of sex, even when it is "on a plate". The last two women I have met from online were both wanting to sleep with me (and yes, they told me this themselves), and I turned them both down and kept the friendships intact. Unfortunately this wasn't enough for one of the women, who is unfortunately no longer my friend because I wouldn't sleep with her.
Why? Because I wasn't attracted to either woman, duh!

I've turned down sex a number of times for different reasons:
1. The woman was intoxicated and I didn't want to take advantage of the situation.
2. I considered her a good friend, knew that a relationship would not work and didn't want to loose her as a friend.
3. I really don't believe in one nighters.

Ok....but seriously.....of course I have turned down sex, what the hell kind of question is that? Lots of factors come in to play......primarily, is she attractive? I would rather jack off than have sex with an unattractive woman......but hey, thats just me.

No i wouldn;t have sex with everyone i met. Maybe because i am older and have learned from my past mistakes. I just take my time one day the right woman will come along.

sponge, lj and night, good answers....its nice to see that not only the body matures but the mind and common sense also.......The younger ones just have not gotten there yet.....and find a thrill in playing with all the new toys they have found...or the old ones....think they may never get another chance....

Okay, Jim, had rather hear you say something like, I don't have sex with just anyone, I have to have feelings for them. Of course, maybe I am being idealistic, unreal. That is why I asked this question. Like I said in another thread, men and women react and respond, think differently. So it interesting to know how men feel. Lately, it seems I have been inundated with mail from men who just want sex with anyone and everyone, it gets very discouraging and makes them not very special. I am not saying that this is ALL men, just the ones that I have talked to lately. I know that there are decent men, not these that pick up women in bars and have sex with them, not even knowing them, and a good portion of them admit to not even wearing condoms. It is just discouraging to keep running across that kind of men. I don't know about the other women on here, but I want a man that not any or every woman can have or has had. I am looking for discrimination, integrity, decency, one I can be proud to be with and not afriad of what std he has picked up.

I can't speak for anyone else but I've always been like this. Even as a teenager I would go out "looking" but never wanted a plaything, I always wanted the real deal.

if your refering to me,,,that is indeed what i meant to say but i was eating some humble pie at the time and i just shortened my answer,,,,,,,,,,,i'm glad we came to a nice place bev we had a little go around this morning,,hence the " gay" comment on this thread,,,,,,,,,,,but in a way it has made me at least respect your opinion and your right to voice it whether i agree or not,,i do so love an intellectual discussion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and your obviously a bright woamn so no hard feelings
