Is it a cliche when you tell someone you love - "I want us to talk about anything"??
Are there some subjects that should be "off limits".... What if you tell him you enjoy the attention of other men??? - not that you do anything about it - just that you enjoy that??? He feels bad & takes it personally.... Is it your fault he's too busy to answer emails or calls??? What do you all think???

Two people should be able to talk about anything in an adult fashion without blowing things out of proportion. That is if they truly cared about each other.

I do believe in the saying: If you really don't want to know,,don't ask".
Remember,,you might not like the answer.
If my husband asks me something I will tell him, with out hesitation. I on the other hand am very careful what I ask, do I really want to know?
We talk about things in our past, and our future,,,we have touched on subjects that would make people wonder if we are crazy even.

I have friends that there are always some topics that are dangerous...
1) Politics
2)Religion
3)Sex
I've known people who lead two lives, the public life with family, and the private dark side life, those people I remove from the friend category very quickly....
there are always Jekyl and Hyde people in the world, or online... I just prefer to limit my contacts with them...

I consider myself an openminded individual, and as such, also having been raised as a true gentleman in the auld world fashion, there are certain subjects you do not talk about with a lady. BUT, if I care deeply for her, and she wishes to explore and speak about these things, I am honor bound to do my best to discuss the subject regardless of how embarrassed I might be..

Sonds like there's alot going on besides the simple question. But to answer it, there are things I'm not comfortable discussing, not because I'm being secretive, but because I consider some things private.

I think that ' time ' is the factor here... At least for me.
When I 'm just beginning to know someone, I find it hard to talk openly about
a few select subjects.
As time goes on.. It gets easier to discuss them.

Interesting question. I'd go along with Katt on this one. There are somethings I don't like discussing, but mainly because they are about me, not us.

How true... I always have and always will answer any questions asked honestly. What bothers me is when the answers given are used as weapons at a later date. If the answer was so upsetting when you heard it you had the option to leave or hash things out and try to understand or see things from another perspective. But for Gawd's sake don't store it for ammunition!

Good travels Wanda. I went to the sea today to see if any of us can really talk about anything.
The sea, representing psyche or Soul said yes!! It is possible, as is all else.
