9-1-1 Operator in a Police/Fire/EMS 9-1-1 Center for a Chicago Suburb
Busy as hell, but I like the work.... I work in a town that I would let my worst enemy's dog live in...
Pretty much feel like at the end of the day....
I work hard, and I work with a bunch of great people on my shift, it really is controlled chaos, on any given day.... especially on weekends...

My job kinda goes hand in hand with chicagosingle dads ..I work at a state hospital in telecommunications.. I deal with the phone system, monitor alarms, deal with the pagers and the overhead pager system.. page traumas and codes.. and a whole lot more.. it is a university teaching hospital/ trauma center ( employs about 7000 ) huge place and getting bigger.. we just completed a new building and a lot of the clinics moved over there and they all have new numbers , alot to absorb, the first of june every year.. after many docs graduate we get a whole new crew of med students and residents and interns, all nationalities and from all over.. many whose names we cant pronounce or spell and by the time they are there a while you can bet they get nicknames.. My job can be stressful at times but i love it...Sweet N Louisiana

I am self-employed and have three jobs. I employ 13 operators around England and book appointments for them to clean upholstery and carpet cleaning from an existing-customer database that I hire from a closed-down carpet/upholstery cleaning company. This jobs pays my mortgage, bills, clothes, and puts food on my table, and is consistently a decent earner. My second and third jobs are to sell advertsising space for The Daily Mirror and Loaded!, and these jobs pay inconsistently, but can occasionally leave me wallowing neck-deep in money. They pay for my holidays, any extras, plus all the work I have had done on my house.

I make windows, it's not the most interesting job in the world but it pays the bills......sometimes. The hours are good, they leave me with plenty of free time in the afternoon to do nothing.

Work at an academic medical center graduating medical students and orientation interns, residents, and fellows. Overseeing implementation of all accreditation mandates. Sounds "dry," but really never a dull moment. A lot of computer work which gives me plenty of time to "peek" at MD!

I work in the education field. It is rewarding because I help those that educate our children to attain or become all they can be and to follow their dreams. Been there for 20 years and have seen many changes in the field. I also work at taking care of 11 acres (and machinery that is necessary to do same) - with a small house in the hopes of one day putting up pole barn and getting some of my own horses here.
