Ok...smarty....
White Rhinoceros: From the Afrikaans word describing its mouth: weit, meaning "wide"; early English settlers in South Africa misinterpreted the "weit" for "white".

Zoo's remind me of a prison for animals. Kinda depressing really. They can be. But some zoos, like our Detroit Zoo, are doing amazing work with their captive breeding programs, helping keep species from going extinct. And habitat for captives is, among the better zoos, becoming a great deal more comfortable.
As a wildlife rehabilitator, I can tell you that that there are some animals who would not otherwise survive if they weren't given safe harbor by us. And they can actually live pretty contented lives. Personally, I feel that is the highest and best use for zoos, not the more common practice of bringing in any and everything healthy simply for display.

Ok, since everyone else is telling the truth, I'm not really an assistant janitor. I'm a university data center shift manager.

Can I pretend to be a plastic surgeon that has fun on the weekend playing in a band? O.K. guards let down the barriers so that the women can start flocking in.

currently working with an auditor company, but little pay and few hours isn't cutting it. July 14th and 15th going get level II UT Tech certified so this company can hire me at triple my current pay and up to 60 hours a week so I'll be a happy camper then!!! Plus get to travel all over the country while doing the work!!!

Infection Control/Occupational Health Nurse. Since I work in a small rural hospital, I have to do a few ER shifts too. Worked OR and RR for 27 yrs before this (loved it!) just became too hectic and political.

Getting ready to retire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So maybe I won't have to spend all my time doing stuff like today - a 7 hour multi-country (and multi-accent) conference call for a major implementation. Just when I thought it was safe to do my grocery shopping I got paged and came home to play Ms. Fixit. I'm one of the lucky ones though (at least so far)....it's been 10.5 hours and counting for a bunch of the rest of the peeps. Of course there's no guarantee I won't get paged again...
Good thing this is the part of my job I love though. I'm really gonna miss it - it's a good feeling to be my age and still be functioning well enough to solve problems on the fly, and still do it better than most. I kinda like being on the A Team....sigh...
