Okay Peeps! I'm toying with the idea of letting my hair grow longer (u can see on the new pics I've posted), but I have had it shorter for years... I have found that most guys prefer long hair, but what do you all think???

I do have a lot of hair, so it is easier when it is shorter. And, honestly, I would do this for myself - not to look sexy for any ol' guy... But, it is fun to see what y'all think.... and don't forget to put "WHY"...

You didn't give the impression that opinions weren't welcome Rachel.... anyway, I like both long and short hair on women and, to be honest, it depends on the woman in question whether or not short or long hair looks better. I suppose that I would, if pushed, choose long(ish) hair over short hair, but I'm really not too bothered.

Rachel. . .who cares what they prefer. What do you prefer?
I've had both and prefer mine short.
Do what you want, you're the one that has to deal with it everyday.
I like your hair short. It looks sassy!!

Rachel...you have to do what you want hon..don't worry about what others may or may not like..if you like you..and you like the way you look..you're going to shine no matter what!!!
I've played with the idea of growing my hair..and have done it...and lol like you I have a ton of hair...on me longer hair looks hideous...more like Rosanna Rosanna Danna (ok dating myself here) than I want to look like..so I prefer to keep it short...
Do what YOU want hun..give it a whirl if you want...you can always cut it if you don't like it..

I think you should do what make's you happy. Hair will alway's grow back. When I date someone I can't say the length of their hair has ever been something I look at. If you feel like letting it grow then go for it.

Personally I like long hair on women but I'm not the one who has to suffer through summer with it.

Well, we all sit around and tell people, "Do what YOU want, hon?", but that doesn't really help, because it really isn't about what YOU want.
For example, if you wanted "easy", buzz cutting is probably the best -- easy to wash, still have enough to prevent sun burn, don't have to shave, etc.
If you are serious about asking people, then it really is how you like to look to others. Otherwise, if you are looking in the mirror 24 hours a day, you've got other problems.
Let is grow, see what other people think. You can always cut it off later.

To me it depends on your profile.People with a thin face look fine with short hair and those with plumper facial features look better with longer hair.

I personally keep my hair longer, tied back in a ponytail, low maintenance for me...

I'd say do what you want. I have had both and find that longer hair is much more versatile. I can wear it down if I want or put it in a ponytail in the summer when it's warm outside. Plus I don't have to wash it every day if I don't want to. Like you, I have a lot of hair (thick, curly and coarse). Work with your stylist to get a style that will work with your hair without making you feel like there's a bush growing on your head. I have layers all over to keep mine under control.

either long or short is fine by me so long as it complements the woman's face. some women look better with long hair and vice-versa

Long or short really depends on what works with your face the best.
How about trying on a few wigs to see what each style does for you? Pick the one that shows off that pretty face of yours. I'm sure one style will frame it better than another and that's what we all want to see.

and if you don't like the way it's cut, it'll grow back ;)
I started cutting my hair short last August; it is now shoulder length and darn near straight; I can't afford the perms that other people get and it's harder to take care of if I do, it's also harder to take care of and drives me insane when it's longer. I'm more for the wash and wear idea :)
It's a known fact, most men prefer longer hair on women, frankly, we're the ones that have to deal/mess with it every day, why should they decide what we do with our hair, it's ours, right?
