Sixth Street in Austin comes to mind for a good party area.
I like most music menus but primarily go to country/western clubs because the ladies seem more approachable and like to dance.

I don't get out much, at least not to meet women, but I find that taking my daughter to the park is always a winner!

Maybe I should fix my hair and put on some make-up... I would find it extremely strange and not in the least bit attractive if I met ladies at the park (or at Walmart for that matter) who had dolled themselves up to play on the swings or do some shopping! I like the "natural look", because I like to think that ladies I might go out with are comfortable with themselves and do not feel the "need" to try and impress others!
Yay for mussed-up hair and the "comfy-look"!
Edited because I missed out a word!

Hey- China - Do you think we're getting older - or value comfort more???
My motto is - If you can't fix it in fifteen - it can't be fixed- that's fifteen minutes - not hours, days, or weeks

Hey- China - Do you think we're getting older - or value comfort more??? I think that we are wiser now and that we simply realise what the more important things are in life, rather than pretty nails, red lipstick or a sixpack.
Damn, where's my sixpack gone?

LOCAL??
Alas, all the local Navy guys top out at age 26 ~sigh~ even the PILOTS! Talk about making a woman feel OLD and pushed outta the loop
The rest of the local fellas are either very VERY married family men or are...uh...lets just say "unappealing" -- both physically and, wellll, "culturally" (which is MY fault for not studying up on/appreciating the appeal of NASCAR, MOPAR, trucks and ATV's, football, hunting or loud country music -- They seem more turned on by lively one-up/pissing matches with each other, over beers, than spending time in "normal" conversation with a ~gasp~ WOMAN.)
Nope...don't think there's any place "local" to hang out -- of course I haven't looked THAT hard. I'd have to leave my yard.

I am not a mingler, in my youth I used to go out with folks... but now everyone I know is "hooked up", (lol, married, shacked up, dating, or nursing a grudge), for me an exciting evening is a late baseball game that my nephew is playing in... otherwise I'm usually home by 7:00pm.... ye a real live wire... lol

I live in a party house with 4 other guys, so you would think that I would meet lots of women, right? Wrong.
I'm not a party kinda guy. I'm the guy who makes the beer runs, because I am usually sober (or very close to it).
Most of the people who come around are couples. The occasional single women who show up can drink me (or you) under the table, and are generally unappealing in a variety of other ways. To me, they don't even look good at closing time (if we had a closing time).
On the positive (?) side, if I were to change my ways and decided to hang out at any of the local bars, I would already know half of the people there, having met them at one of our parties.
I don't meet women here for the same reason I don't hang out at the local bars. I have nothing against heavy drinking, but it just isn't me. Sometimes (often) I just leave the party and go play on the computer.
I have invited MD people to have a get together here on July 1st (roommates will be busy elsewhere), but so far they don't seem interested.

I go to the post office. Unfortunately those girls are all between 30 and 50 years older than myself.

Dwain, from what I have heard, Bo's barn in Salado is the place to go for the dancing. I am not much one for the single's stuff, so I haven't been there, I am more of a one on one person, but have men who are just friends that I talk to online that go there all the time.

To work....too bad the interesting ones who are anywhere near my age are married. The younger interesting ones are MUCH too young to be anything other than friends, but they do make life interesting. Actually, I guess they all do, just in different ways.

Grey, I thought you had met yours. Maybe it is not that people aren't interested, could be your location or the date. Don't feel bad about it.
