A lot of people have posted that they hate and/or ignore winks. Forget about em...go straight for the email....it shows REAL interest.

Never wink when you can write. A wink doesn't tell the person anything about you.

it depends...if I like what I read in the profile..I usually write back after I get a wink...
If I get winked at by someone I have no interest in..I usually ignore it now...I used to write a thanks but not interested letter...and all that got me was harrasement
when I"m feeling lazy (not often) I simply wink back and leave the ball in his court.

Wink first - if they send you back a virus that destroys your computer - makes your dog sick and makes your roof leak - DO NOT EMAIL THEM.

/\/\/\Ron, who made your dog sick? My kitty's and I will track them down and scratch their eyes out! Then, I'll come over with my hammer and nails and fix your roof.
I don't understand the winks I get from men who are 100's of miles away, I say I will relocate for the right person, didn't mean another state! I guess thats my fault, should change that.

Sorry Fire, got a little carried away there and forgot to answer your question. I tried the winking thing, got me no where. I now email if I find someone interesting. I don't find that much here, all you men just live too far away.(Can't relocate for at least 2 years) I come here for the forums and blogs. This site is just entertainment for me. HOWEVER, if someone were to do either, I would prefer an Email. I do email with friends here though.

Emailing here is free, so if you are REALLY interested then send a mail, even just a short one. However, if you're just browsing and someone catches your eye briefly, then just wink, just like you'd do in real life.

I pretty much ignore winks - I figure if the guy is really interested he can send me an email. Winks do not tell me anything. Additionally, if the email sounds like a form letter, I will usually ignore it.

A wink is so impersonal and I usually never respond to them. How hard is it to say, "I liked your profile" Lets face it the worst thing thats going to happen is someone doesn't respond to your email, which by the way is rude. I always respond to all emails, even from the sick-o's (after my response they get blocked)
go for the email, you have nothing to loose and maybe a new friend to gain.

The few times I replied a wink nothing really happened, I'm convinced some men wink just out of boredom and the few times I've winked anyone at most they just wink back or e-mail with a brief compliment so I don't really take winks seriously.
I don't discount that in some cases it may lead to more but I believe that if there was real interest they'd write. Shyness should not be an excuse because how hard is it to write "Hi" on the subject line and then "I really liked your pic and profile, if you like mine as well I would love to get to know you better". Even just "Hi" shows a little effort and as long as the e-mail is "normal" I always reply even if just to thank the person.

I like to wink, because am looking for a sexy romantic lady that knows how to play the game of romance. If you are dealing with a non romantic person it's the same-o same-o all the time. Makes me feel old thinking about it.

I don't reply to winks either. I have it clearly stated in my profile....but I still get them. Shows me who actually reads my profile and who doesn't.
